Use the Motorcraft trans fluid, don’t trust the multi use stuff. Pretty sure you have the 6R80 which should be LV. Also wear gloves when changing, a lot of techs complain about LV causing itching and skin irritation.
Keep an eye on your coolant level if this is starting to happen. Had this issue going on for close to a year. Level in degas would drop to low mark, and would occasionally hear the bubble noise inside. Pressure tested system and no leaks. Fast forward to a month ago when temps started dropping...
If your experiencing throttle delay try resetting KAM(keep alive memory). Has to be done with a scan tool but resets learned values back to zero. I don’t feel it and I’m pretty sensitive to throttle response.
All the Pedal Commander does is fool the PCM to open the throttle body sooner, don’t...
I have seen this before. Engine never showed signs of damage and ran fine after replacing the plug. One theory is that cylinder is running lean due to dirty injector. The increased cylinder temp due to lean mixture causes the plug to fail, just a theory. Never hurts to clean fuel injectors...
Wouldn’t trade my ‘15 EL for anything. We road trip with two kids and dog usually twice a year from TX to Iowa and Illinois. Wouldn’t do it any other way. We did it in a ‘08 Scion XB when kids were 7 and 3, barely enough room form them to sit with all our stuff. EL is amazing vehicle, we bought...
If they use the same H9 bulb, look into swapping them for H11’s(might have numbers backwards). I did this to my ‘15 and was night and day difference. Basically your putting a 65w high beam bulb in the low beam. Light is still cut off at top, and doesn’t blind people. Found the idea on F150...
Just curious and maybe someone can educate me as my kids have been out of car seats for several years but I still get asked this question often by customers. Why would you not use the seat anchors? Why use the belts at all?
Back to the original question, never use anything but plain R134 in your system. Many of the cans that are sold at parts stores have other crap in them like sealers and stuff they claim helps it cool. It’s BS and just costing you money. If you don’t see plain r134 on the shelf ask them, they...
You’d be fine with non E tires. The P tires these size ranges are not car tires. Comparing the two Cooper examples you listed, the AT3 AS is rated at 2800lbs at 50psi and the LTX is 3000lbs @ 80psi. Not a huge difference. The rear axle weight loaded even with your trailer is not going to be...
I’ve used Powerstop z36 stuff on a couple of vehicles and had good results. Ended up using Akebono Performance carbon pads from Rock Auto on ‘15 EL. These pads have been amazing. The brake feel, stopping, and brake modulation is up there with high dollar competition pads I’ve used in race cars...
Use Motorcraft 5w-20 or 30 (synthetic blend) or another brand blend and change oil and filter every 5k and you should never have issues. You can run full synthetic but not required. Main thing is changing it. Never seen an engine fail because it ran conventional oil and was changed every 3-5k miles.
From what you are describing it is normal. You hear it more during light to moderate acceleration and lower speeds? The sound is more than likely coming from the intake plumbing due to the bypass valve on the pressure side between turbo and throttle body. Completely normal. One of the ways...
Exactly! A lot of times for maintenance the dealer will have the best price, should have techs that know the vehicle, and can perform warranty repairs if a problem is found. I see it all the time where people pay more for repair or service at an independent or aftermarket shop because said shop...
