    We live in Amarillo. We get snow sometimes. We sometimes have to share the road with people who shouldn't be driving at all, especially in the snow. Our 2019 Limited has AWD. We won't drive a vehicle without it.

    I also find it inconvenient sometimes to have to press the brake pedal to start the engine. On those occasions, I just use the remote start feature on my key fob.

    We only drive vehicles with AWD. If we truly need 4WD instead, the differential can always be locked with the press of a button.

    Welcome to the forum. We also upgraded to a 2019 Expy from our 2006 model. I would strongly recommend skipping the 2017 model and opt for a 2018 or newer. The 4th Gen Expys are a whole new beast.     As a good rule-of-thumb, ALWAYS replace the filter when changing fluids. This is true for oil, transmission, or whatever. One does not want to circulate nice, new, clean fluid through a dirty filter.

    Screw in tire - repairable?

    We have been getting all of our tires and tire-related advice from Discount Tire since 2012. If they felt it was safe to repair, they would do so. If not, they have a huge stock of tires and can probably match up just one tire to the rest of your set. We trust them completely.
