just got a mail from Ferd, another recall, 26V402, apparently 2018-2021 Expeditions, the trans can break the park pawls, and the remedy is not yet available... Until its fixed mid next year(?), they recommend always using the parking brake.

I try to always set my parking brake, even when parked on flat ground. I want to get as many miles out of the transmission as I can. Sure is a shame to see so many recalls from Ford lately, though. A study I was reading this morning said they're over 200 recalls from January of last year to now.

Ford set a record for the USA last year with the highest number of vehicle safety recall programs (153) and the highest number of vehicles recalled (12.9 million) in one year, since vehicle safety recalls began.

They also had the highest number of safety recalls and vehicles recalled in 2024 and 2023 - beating all other vehicle manufacturers.

It seems like they might exceed last year's number of vehicles recalled, if not individual recall orders. What gets me is that practically everything Ford built from 2010 to the present day seems bound to be recalled at some point. Sure doesn't make me feel good about build quality.
