Joe J, Did you ever find out what was causing the problem? My 2015 has the same issue although it is intermittent.

Thanks!
Probably battery related. Every time this happens to my 16 I either swap fobs or change batteries. Works every time.

I've had the same issue for the last 18 months that I've had my 2017 Limited. Has anyone figured out how to fix? Door chime goes off every time I open the door when truck is off. At first I thought maybe it was normal, but I've gotten a couple of rental Expy's that don't do it, which made me realize something isn't right.

Figured out what was wrong, so I'm posting this in case anyone else runs into it. Turns out something had gone wrong with my shifter, so the truck always thought it was in neutral when I turned the truck off. I had the dealer replace the shifter and the problem is all solved now. Remote start works properly now and the frickin' dinger is gone now too :) Also discovered a few other things that work now that I didn't realize weren't working, such as the driver seat automatically sliding back a bit when you turn off the truck. Service department also said that it caused a parasitic draw on the battery when the truck was off. Never led to any problems that could tell but who knows.

Feels like a brand new truck now :)

Did the dealer diagnose the problem, or did you (or someone else)?

I have a 2015 Ford Expedition Limited 4x4.
