My front license plate holder easily popped off my bumper when I went to install my new plates on my new 2022 Expy.

If this happens to you, potentially someone drilled too big of holes into the bumper, so the OEM rivets weren't securely fastened.

I recommend using 3/16 inch exploding pop rivets with at least 1/4" grip length, something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Rivets-Aluminum-Exploding-Banana-Fasteners/dp/B09ZBKHFVV

You can buy OEM rivets from the dealership or online, but (1) they are expensive (~$14 per rivet) and (2) they could still pop out if the drilled holes are too big. These are OEM: https://parts.ford.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/us/body/body-hardware/rivet-7843611-1?pdp=y

You could also try 1/4" diameter rivets. But that diameter size is not standard, so your rivet tool might not work.

The 3/16" exploding rivets worked for me!

Or the holes could be enlarged to be square so that the old nylon anchors could be pressed in as they were on the vehicles with metal bumpers. 1678741979407.jpeg

I do like plastic hardware for license plates. Steel screws into aluminum sitting undisturbed for years is a recipe disaster when the time comes to remove them.
