Hello al.

2013 EL.

OK my blower motor resistor was all messed up. Would not change speeds. would not turn off. could not change the heat or cold. and the 4 wires were burning up under the glove. total mess.

I had it replaced and everything works fine now. BUT. There is a clicking sound coming out of the steering wheel dashboard area. Just one click every second. sometimes it stops and sometimes it continues for the rest of the trip.

what can it be?

also my cooling and heating seat button wont stay on.

Best.

It's under the passenger seat. I just fixed mine. I have the ford repair kit bag still at home for the part number. I was able to de-pin the connector, so that I only had to use 2 of the new leads.

I had this same exact issue with the i think hot/cold actuator under the drivers side dash tucked up under towards the center consol.

It would click about every second attempting to find the home position because the potentiometer was broken. My symptoms were nothing worked with it plugged in, unplugging it and everything seemed to work.

There are several of these all through the hvac system and if they click about every second it generally means they are not finding the home position so they bounce back and forth.

The blend door actuator's gears are plastic. They strip quite easily. Mine was the hot/cold blend door actuator. I was able to diagnose by running the temperature control up and down to see if changing it would end the click. The part is cheap, but the location is a bit tight. Here's a good video of the process:
