the center display has started to open in the towing screen, even though it was on MyScreen when shut down. This is something new. How do I reset this? the soft reset doesn't seem to work.
Center display on 2021 Expedition defaulting to the towing screen when started. How do I correct this?

is a trailer plugged in? my 2019 only does that if a trailer is plugged in.

Try this:
Go to the TOW menu <OK>
Select TRAILER SET UP <OK>
Select TRAILER <OK>
Select NO ACTIVE TRAILER <OK>
Then go back to whatever you have selected on MyScreen and shut off the Expy.
Restart, and hopefully MyScreen is displayed.
To add to Left Coast Geek above, the reply is true.
On my 2020, the TOW screen consistently displays even after unplugging. The NO ACTIVE TRAILER feature must be selected to turn off the TOW screen default when the vehicle is started.
Go to the TOW menu <OK>
Select TRAILER SET UP <OK>
Select TRAILER <OK>
Select NO ACTIVE TRAILER <OK>
Then go back to whatever you have selected on MyScreen and shut off the Expy.
