That’s unburnt fuel.
When you floor it, to keep exhaust temps down, most engines will dump fuel to run rich.
If you are ever behind someone who floors it to pass, you’ll likely see a small puff of black when they do it.
Not much you can do other than adjusting your driving habits.

I would suggest that it would only matter when towing 9200lbs in Death Valley at 120 F at 2pm.
I doubt the cooling capacity is used running around town.

I have 2010 F150 and since I changed the battery I’ve been experiencing the high idle and stalling after a bit on the highway. Very much like what is described in the OP.

The issue isn’t wear and tear on the starter and motor. It’s the battery(ies).
My E63 wagon had the primary and secondary batteries shit the bed after 3.5 years. Luckily covered under warrranty. My wife drives it mostly and never turns off the stop start.
Second printing didn’t have it as far as I can tell.

I’m in the same situation. Looked at the brake parts, and they are same as my 2010 F150.
I’d expect my F150 take offs that I use for winter with 265/75/17 will also fit the Expedition I have ordered. My F150 has 20s as stock.
I was thinking of just getting a Navigator for the extra $10K, but that is a 12 month wait. Canadian dealers only get a certain amount of allocations unlike the US dealers.
