Welcome to the forum. I’m sorry to hear about your water issue. I can honestly say that I haven’t experienced that. I parked out side for the first year and a half.
Can you tell us if you were parked on hill nose up or down or if you parked on a level surface when this happened?
I just put 400 miles on it yesterday so I'm 15,600 something. We drove to Kenton Ohio for a Scottish Rite Reunion. I picked a couple of degrees. Now only 11 to go to fill my passport.
You can try this one and see if it works on your truck:
MERCURY/LINCOLN/FORD
(Note: Steps 1-6 must be completed within 30 seconds. The entire procedure must be completed within 5 minutes)
1. Start with the ignition key in the off position and the window open.
2. Turn the iginition key to the...
Welcome to the Forum Jamie. There is a reset procedure to allow the auto up to relearn where the top. It is on here and some of the guys may have a link for it. I just can't find it right now.
I still have a pair of aviator sunglasses that I used to wear back in the early 70. I found them in my tool box. I've worn them a couple of times, they aren't polarized so I bought some new ones.
I've got 15,000 miles on my 17. Bought new No real issues. I have the EL with 4WD I average about 14.5 MPG week in and week out. I can see up to 17 on a long trip but it is only while driving on the highway. I wouldn't trade it for anything except maybe a 19 or 20 :D
Those are probably the best reasons for doing it. I notice in the morning when it's cold and I'm backing up sometimes the cloud makes it hard to see where I'm going particularly when its dark and the backup lights hit it.
No. I didn't do this mod. I still have the factory setup. The pipe coming out the back doesn't bother me. If I still own it when the exhaust system goes, I may have as shop change it but for now it's fine.
Is it possible that water is getting in around the center brake light mounted in the roof? Or through the screw holes that hold the roof rack to the roof? That's the only place that I can think were water can enter.
That was what I thought was weird when we had the incident at the car wash. I called my insurance company and they said they could handle the claim but it would go against my insurance. I asked the same question and they said it didn't work that way, so I had to wait until the other guy's...
Welcome to the Forum Captain Kirk.
Yesterday, I was listening to Hotel California and I turned up the volume. The base was thumping so loud that I felt like Don Henley was in the backseat kicking the bass drum. It was pretty awesome. I love the factory system.
Glad you didn't get injured. Mine's been to the body shop twice this year (very unusual for me) the first time was from the incident in the car wash, the other when we were moving and the trailer that I was towing came unhooked and the rear bumper cover and crack it
I went crazy with this on my 05. I replaced all of the parking brake components, except the little scissor looking thing that helps push the shoes out to the drum when you set the parking brake. on my 17 the parking brake holds it on any hill with little or no problems.
Once you get the...
