Prospective owner with a question on cargo

I'm assuming you are asking about the Max version, not the Shorty, sorry I can't help you!

    Block Heater

I know my sisters Volkswagen didn't even have an option of a block heater, all they do is the oil pan heater.

What model of Expedition do you have?

Pretty sure the Stealth pkg is 303A

    Block Heater

I plugged mine in during the - 40C temps, figured, why not? Better for the engine. Although my wife seems to have figured out that if you do command start from the fob twice, then the FordPass app, it'll run longer! Nope, fuel mileage is of NO concern when it comes to having a warm vehicle for...

So are you guys just using 194 led's for the license plate light, or actually finding the w5w's?

I am a researcher, not by trade, just by obsession! Whenever I look to buy something, I try to learn as much about it as I can, that way I hope to make the right choice for me and not regret it afterwards. When I bought my Nissan Murano when it was first released, I knew more than the...

When is it time for an oil change?

I see a lot of people using semi synthetic, or synthetic blend. Is there a reason you wouldn't use full synthetic? It's all I used in my previous Escalade. Is it just a cost thing?

Do you happen to have any more pics? Maybe even a shot of what all you had to cut away to get full range of motion, thanks! Looks great

    Auto stop benefit

Those same engineers also made it so I had to drop the front bumper on my Escalade to change a headlight bulb! :) or an even better design was the old Mercury Sable with the lighted front grill, my Father in law had a bulb burn out in it, would have had to pull the rad to change it! Not...

The "Auto Stop-Start" is so annoying!!!!

I'm assuming the factory batteries are just regular AGM batteries and not the TPPL type. Reason I say is that I had a bunch in my boat and got the charging guide from Northstar batteries and created my own custom charge cycle (as far as the absorption and float parameters). I installed a Pro...

What coolfeature have you discovered recently?

Just found out about the AdvanceTrac and AdvanceTrac Sport Mode option. Hold your traction control button for 5 seconds and it will pop up saying AdvanceTrac On, or double tap and it does AdvanceTrac Sport Mode. Wasn't sure what it did, but found this thread that seems to explain it...

The "Auto Stop-Start" is so annoying!!!!

Well I stand corrected! :) Not sure I like the direction it could lead to (pretty soon your own car can give you a ticket for speeding!!)

The "Auto Stop-Start" is so annoying!!!!

Also, I don't think it 'visually reads' the signs, it's all there in the Nav. click on the home button on the touchscreen while driving and it shows what the current speed limit is of the road you are on and it actually changes pretty close to right where the speed limit signs are!

The "Auto Stop-Start" is so annoying!!!!

If and when I have to replace my battery I will do so with a Northstar battery. Best batteries on the market. Better than a normal AGM as they are a thin plate pure lead battery. They can be discharged deeper than others and recharged without causing any negative problems in the battery. I had 4...

600 miles enough for break in?

That's what I'm finding out as well. Although, many things I read listed it as an option / feature when I was first researching the Expy. So I was surprised to find out it didn't have it when I got mine. Never had it before, so don't know what I'm missing so it's ok

Stupid mirror in sunglasses holder - 2018 EXPY Limited

I do find the little mirror pointless as well, since I don't have kids, and it is a puzzle whenever I put my Oakley Badman glasses in it. Haven't tried my Juliets or Penny's

Easiest way to switch my 20” rims for 18” rims?

And the point of being an ass to a new member is...........? Technically he is correct, his current wheels DO have a 20" RIM, so he'd like to get different wheels that have an 18" RIM. Lots of people call them rims, Now I could be wrong, but I doubt these multi million dollar...

    Auto headlights

I was driving behind a vehicle on a 70km/h stretch last night and the back of his vehicle was filthy, so much that his tail lights were hardly visible. Well the Expy let them know that it disapproved of their unsafe driving practices by throwing the high beams at ' em!! Haha

    Rear Window Defroster Line Discoloration

For the time being, when you press the lift gate button, right after, press on the ridge of the trim piece just to its right, it'll probably work as it has on many of ours. Hopefully after the holidays my dealer will get mine in and figure it out.

    Second row bench seat

I would do a combination of TobyU and Fozzy and cut out patches in similar carpet, larger than the bare spots, tuck it under the factory carpet and then get the plugs Fozzy shows (a little longer because of the thickness of the carpet) and make a small slice and insert the plugs through the...

    Tailgate button sticking?

I actually stopped in and was talking to my dealer and told him I would have to get it in. Told him I figured it was the trim piece and he said he would just order both a button and trim piece. I said i was just thinking it's the trim, but he figured he'd order both just in case. Honestly I...
