Are you talking about the one behind the radio? That one is labeled rh unit, I guess when standing in front of truck. They show the lh unit on page 412-01-46 of the 2011 manual. But I am having trouble locating where that is.
2011 XLT with dual zones. With AC on driver side gets cold but passenger side will not change from hot. I know about the one behind the radio but doesn't that one control driver side. Where is the one for the passenger side? Thanks.
You should not have any real problems. But there will be a difference in ride front to back. Once you get used to it, probably won't notice it, but I doubt the Monroe will last very long. Monroe are OEM as well and are junk. I went thru 2 complete sets in less than 20K miles. All leaked...
Sorry Guys. To Each his own, but from the initial pictures at the beginning of the thread the LED interior lights are way too bright and harsh for me. I take a long trip for vacation each year in my 2011 and drive all night. Man, those would blind me turning them on after driving in the dark...
Everyone has different experiences. Sorry yours have not been what you expected. I had a 2000 XLT and was able to upgrade to a 2011 XLT with the King Ranch wheel package. Other than terrible quality on the struts which have been replaced with Bilsteins, my 2011 is way better than my 2000 in...
Yes, I have. It has been many years ago before they were building the Expeditions here. I have toured both Louisville Assembly Plants. I am a little prejudiced when it come to Ford. There will never be anything else in my driveway. My grandfather worked for ford for 43 years and retired...
I ordered some Chrome takeoffs off of ebay after seeing this thread. Really liked the change they made in the look. I was surprised at how much difference they really made the truck look in the front.
I am a chrome guy and have upgraded my XLT to a limited in trim. This completes the look...
I have researched this as well and there is nothing available other than what is pictured above. Very pricey to just get the hitch cover. With this body style running for quite a few years, you would think someone would have made one to fit the stock bumper.
I wonder if just the hitch cover...
Follow up - There is absolutely no reference to this feature in the owners manual so I would guess that this is one feature which has no adjustment.
Unless someone knows something I don't .
2011 XLT with no problems with driver seat. The seat retracts backward when you shut the truck off and then advances forward to the set memory position when you insert the key to start. No issues.
Here is the question. Can you change the amount the seat retracts or moves backward when you...
I have a question for 10K. I have the 20s on my 2011 from the factory and like them. Not much on the really larger sizes for me but do like the look of the really large rim and super low profile tire from time to time.
With such a low profile tire, do they ride rougher? I always thought it...
You are on the right track but this is a known but not too common occurrence.
I had it on my 2011 and someone a year or so back complained about the same thing and my solution fixed him as well.
Take down the visors at the roof and check the wiring that goes to them. In most cases you will...
You are way beyond the OEMs being worn out. Virtually all Ford OEMs are gone at 50K miles. When both set of mine lost the majority of their oil the ride got real harsh with very little dampening. Even minor bumps in the road would feel much bigger.
Bilstein only makes one strut for these...
Not surprised. I believe Monroe and / or it's parent company provides all the OEM struts as well. After going thru (2) OEM sets in less than 15k miles I believe there are many, many Expeditions out there with bad or leaking struts. I just don't believe most will notice. The ride will change...
I would go with Bilsteins on the struts. They Ride so much better than OEM. Monroe makes the OEM struts and they are garbage. Went thru 2 sets in 15K miles under warranty.
As far as leveling, Personally I would not. Raising the front would only cause the back to show more of a squat when...
I got the one above and absolutely love it. I don't think I have ever seen one that deflects air down. One comment about that. I did have a spoiler on my 2000 Expedition which did deflect the air down over the window. Honestly I could tell no difference in how clean the rear window area was...
No Dyno. That is the manufacturers claim. All I can really say for sure is that I can feel the difference. I think they might have printouts on their website. Not sure, it's been a while.
I can tell you about my experience with my Hypertech tuner. I did not like the way my 2011 shifted. It was like it slid into each gear. I ended up going with the most aggressive 75% firmer shift and it does feel better. My tuner added about 35 HP and yes it did make a difference in the seat...
Don't need the thing anyway. Best mod is to remove it and cover the stud with a decorative cap. Way more attractive. I have done that on my past (2) Expeditions.
Follow Up - Have now had the truck up to highway speeds. If there is any road noise, it is very little. Can't really tell much difference over the OEM tires.
So far great. I haven't had it on the interstate yet but around town they ride great with really no road noise.
After having (2) factory sets of struts go bad in less than 25K, I believe there are far more bad struts out there than people notice. A lot of people will not notice the...
2011 XLT with only 23000 miles. After going thru (2) sets of factory struts in which both sets leaked out most of their oil in less than 10000 miles, Originals leaking badly after 5000 miles, replacement warranty set leaking badly after 15000 miles, I finally got her taken care of.
All...
