    This was a used fuse box that looks new. Its in really good shape. As I said , the SUV starts now but fuse 21 sparks and blows when removing the key. The emergency brake doesn't work either.

    Everything is reassembled and connected. All fuses are correct. The instrument cluster lights up and the gauges swept back on forth. Turned the key, held my breath as the engine cranked... but it didn't turn over. When I removed the key, fuse 21 sparked and blew just as before.

    On the circuit board, about 2/3 of the way down theres what looks to be a blur circle. Next to that on the wire it looks blue and smudgy.

    2nd update Could the all be related to a bad fuse box?? Ive just lost the blower motors too. No a/c light, no defrost light. Ive switched the relays and no change.

    I'm at work now... but I've got the steering column exposed and the wires look okay. I'll put on my reading glasses tomorrow and really inspect their condition. I don't see any idiot taps on the column anywhere. I'll update you tomorrow. And I really thank you for your guidance on this one...

    Fuse 22 has power when Fuse 21 is good. When Fuse 21 blows, there is no power to Fuse 22. Fuse 22 is still intact but theres no power. I just tested fuse 21 again. When I remove the key, I see a spark at Fuse 21 and it blows. if I turn off the car but leave the key in... Everything is good...

    Holy cow, I just reconnected the instrument cluster and the gauges worked and the radio came on. Then I heard a pop. I turned off the car and then back on, and fuse 21 is blown. Shows 12.35 volts on the bottom connector and 8 on the top. I used a fuse that lights up when there's a problem...
