Wow!! Great!!!
Thanks A Lot ----.
After you know what/how to look for, it all comes up right..
But it got me a bit confused.
It says that the same knuckles used for the 2009-on F-150 and the 2007-on EXPY are the F-150 Rear Wheel Drive. Not the 4WD version. But the EXPY is 4WD…
eBay - F-150 rims.
Well, with my experience with land rover parts, I have found that different part number is not necessarily means different parts.
Some of the engine parts of the 4.0L Discovery (1999-2004) and the 4.6L (1999-2002) have different numbers but they are exactly the same and...
Thanks.
Rims are 8.5" - same as the stock 20".
You are absolutely right.
I would say that in order to do this right, one would need to get:
Longer trailing arms – didn’t see anything for the EXPY.
Taller steering knuckles - perhaps from a 2007-2010 F-150 lift kit…
Longer break...
It’s a 2010 Expedition EL EB with 3"/2" lift + 295/70/18 (was 275/55/20) + Hypertech Max Energy.
The 3/2 lift/leveling kit came from an eBay seller - $150, including shipment.
I got the 4 18" rims off eBay, for less then $300, including shipment – used but lock just great – as good as new...
Nitto Terra Grappler AT LT295/70R18 installed about 2 weeks ago on a 4X4 2010 EL EB (after 3”/2” lift) – no rubbing at all.
After the installation, at list ¾” clearance at the narrowest tire-to-body point (front with steering half way to ether side).
Could have put 285/75/18.
I’ll open a...
In the first pic, the truck is level to the ground/slope, so the slope doesn’t affect the rear or the front height nor the tire-fender clearance.
Leveled or not, the rear got an inch less lift than the front (measured), the head light point to the sky (not that much :-) but it is higher..)...
That was my thought – adding some more metal to one end of the rear spacer but because the lift isn’t equal to the spacer’s height, I don’t know how much thickness to add to the spacer - How much spacer height = how much lift?
So do you think 1/2 inch of added thickness will get me the 1” I want?
Hi.
I need (want) longer/taller knuckles for my 2010 EL.
After installing a 3/2 lift, I want to reduce the stress on the front upper ball joints - http://www.expeditionforum.com/f40/3-2%94-lift-%96-not-so-pleased-%85-18375/
Will the F-150 knuckles (any model) fit into the front of my 2010...
I don’t know. I think I would prefer it with the extra inch – especially when you all load up with the 3 kids and gear for a week…
At first, I thought it was "content"… :-)
There are ways to prevent it.
You can install larger/longer knuckles (ones made for lifting F-150 up to 2010??), use...
As for the tires, the closest parts to front tires remain pretty much the same, despite the 3” lift.
I have about 2” between the tire (OEM 275/55/20) and the power side steps and a little less than 1.5” from the tire to the upper bull joints/knuckle.
Bottom line – apart of the EXPY...
The upper “A” arm move down and get pushed hard to the spring. Although it is not much of concern if you don’t get off the pavement, it is definitely something to take under consideration if you do go/get into uneven terrene.
I can see why some manufacturers have concerns with the angles...
I will try to be as informative as I can, hopping you find the writing helpful.
I got the 2012 EL (EB) some 3 months ago..
Well...
Maybe its just me but I think that the front is higher than it should be.
I didn’t understand why the rear only gets 2”, to begin with and I still don’t get...
