Looks nice. Decent price, avg miles for an '04. Can't tell from the pics, but how is the rear hatch and hood as far as corrosion bubbles? Is the second row Captains seats with the arm rests, or just the middle seat removed?
I did a write-up on a Kenwood DNX 5140, and it should have some helpful info on doing this.

Most obvious places are fuel pump bleeding down as described earlier, fuel filter needs replacing (good for 30K miles), or fuel line freeze-up if there is water in your fuel.
My sub harness did not have 2 separate black wires. Just the RCA connectors and the 2 blue wires. Black would mean ground, so I would assume you need to tap into another ground wire or find a good location to ground them separately. You could try to leave those unconnected to see if you may...

Heres the write up I did on the 5140 install I did. It might help. All depends on what system came stock on your 2nd gen, and which connectors are installed from the factory.
Not impossible or as bad as #4, but make sure you have a 1/4 inch small ratchet to get the coil pack bolt (7 mm) out. Then a couple of different size extensions (maybe swivel) for you 3/8 inch ratchet for the plug. If you are short, a step stool would come in handy too as it's a good reach...
Sounds like you may not have the tow package, but do have a factory hitch. You could order the hitch without the tow pkg, but you would not get the 7 pin connector or HD tranny cooler.
Fuse or bad motors would be a good start. If the fuse is good, put a multimeter on the motor connectors and see if they get power when switched on. If so, bad motors. If not, a short in the wiring or switch.
Ford redesigned the 2V heads in 2003 to have 8 threads on the plug holes rather than 4 threads. This solved the plugs from blowing out. Do not know of a lawsuit or recall regarding the issue.
It looks as if the difference is whether or not you have the Advance Trac/Stability control or not. If not, the cheaper one is what you want. But I would double check that with the store. They SHOULD know, but you never can be sure.
Other than the monochromatic appearance differences, most creature comfort options (other than DVD and Tow Pkg) on the EB will be standard on the Limited.
Fail Safe Mode is usually associated with the TPS or throttle body. You will have to replace the whole TB to fix the issue if this is indeed your problem. Good luck.
Ditto. My '06 does not have the AUX input in the console, and I don't believe the Nav head unit did either in '06. My guess is the aftermarket radio was removed but the input in the console left behind for aesthetic reasons.
I guess it depends on driving style and type of tire you have on the vehicle. The stock Continentals I had on my '06 lasted over 70K miles. I hated them from the day I got it, but couldn't justify replacement until they wore out. Lasted 4 more years and nearly 50K miles before replacement.
What year vehicle, and which stock head unit do you have. It shouldn't matter as there are harnesses out there that can keep all stock functions, but it would help in letting you know exactly what needs to be done.
The rims will fit any second gen Expy. The tires might have a slightly lower profile than stock. My '06 has 275 70/17, so the ones you found will be narrower and slightly less sidewall as the "70" sidewall height is a ratio of tread width. It all depends what is on your vehicle now though...
