    2015 back up camera intermittant

I just did this on my 2016. Good write-up. I did not have any of the "bulb grease" you used. I used silicone that I took out of some underground-rated wire nuts to seal the connections. Looks like the same stuff.

    Hvac issues!!

Follow-up. Bought the CCM. Replaced it. Had to remove the middle dash panel and the CD player and APIC (nav/radio/etc.). The CCM is mounted under the dash behind the APIC. Then, since the CCM is delivered "asleep" (according to the technicians) I had to pay someone to program it. A/C now...

    Towing Question

Make sure you tow in manual. Choose your gear. Shifting heats things up.

    Roof Rack options

I had a local aluminum fabricator make mine. They build T-Tops for boats, etc. This was an easy one for them. Take your racks off. Save the bolts. Drop the car off at the shop with your specs. Pick it up later. Take it to a powder-coater. Use factory bolts with a thin plastic liner...

    Hvac issues!!

Having similar issues. 2016 KR with dual zone climate. Front fans went out, then rear. I have tried a new relay, resistor, and checked fuses. Thinking of replacing the climate control module (Motorcraft CCM73). Anyone have any other advice? Doubt it’s blower motor. That would not explain rear...

    Thin pink fluid under engine?

This is a very thin pink oily fluid--like brake fluid or power steering fluid. I pulled the skid plate off again and have some better photos. The fluid was dripping from the rectangular box with fins. You can see that the fluid has spread around the box, but clearly does not come from above...

    Thin pink fluid under engine?

Thank you J. I tried to look further...will try again. Hub actuators are at the wheel, so that's not what that is.

    Thin pink fluid under engine?

I'm confused here. This is on a 2016 4x4. I noticed a small pool of thin pink fluid under my car in garage, about 6" in diameter. At first I thought I had a transmission leak. It didn't leak again for a week, then I had probably a half cup on the floor...enough to run out to the side of the...

    Keep or trade up?

Trade up. Didn't read a word of your post or any of the replies, but if you can afford it, trade up! Cars get better and better.

    5W-30 instead of 5W-20

I see a lot on this thread about oil brands. About 10-15 (maybe 20) years ago there was a study done on NYC cabs varying oil brands and oil change intervals. Bottom line was that it didn't matter which oil brand you used, as long as you changed it often. I buy the cheapest full synthetic I...

    Has anyone seen this?

So this might be a reason for me to get Forscan, but I know little about it. I have a 2016 Expedition, and my daughter a 2013 F150. She lost a key (transponder with remote but no remote start). I have been researching the cheapest way to get a new one and program it. Looks like a good key on...

    2016 / 2017 Sync 3.4 Success?

Thank you. Nothing about this excites me, so I'm gonna pass! Thanks for your efforts on this site. I think you helped me with the first Sync upgrade.

    2016 / 2017 Sync 3.4 Success?

Picking up the pieces of this conversation, and asking questions... On my 2016... I remember an afternoon or two of frustration getting to Sync 3.0, so I am very reticent to try to upgrade. If I do this through CyanLabs, will I lose 911 assist? Do I need to upgrade my USB first? If so, how...

    Expedition - Impressed (tow capacity)

Glad to see some educated people regarding towing here. I'm interested in suggestions on my towing. I have a 2017 with 3.73 gears and a 2" lift on all 4 corners. Towing an aluminum 4Star 2-horse trailer that weighs 3,200 lbs. empty. Usually less than 2,000 lbs. of horse in it. The Expy tows...

    Height and fit in garage

Go to a good aluminum fabricator and see if they will build you customs. I removed my factory rack and replaced it with what's in the picture. Took them to a powder coater and tried to match the underbody color. Cost less than a set of Thule's. Fits in my garage with a 2" lift.

Where do you put your keys?

Slightly off topic, but for those who need keys for various other things, like a warehouse or jobsite or marina or second home... Once I got beyond 5 keys on a ring, I bought a little key ring holder like you might find inside a kitchen door and mounted it inside my console. Now I carry just...

    What is your average MPG?

If you're at 65 with traffic, 20 is not surprising. Especially if you run 93 octane. Wonder what mileage we would get with 0% ethanol.

    What is your average MPG?

Finally someone who speaks my language. I'm hyper-miling mine right now and can't keep it above 17.0 on the computer (60 city/40 highway), which is a little under 16 actual. I have a 2016 KR with 3.73 gears, 4x4 with 2" lift and inch taller tires. I think the people who report over 20 on the...

    MPG when towing

Just got back from 1,200 mile round trip with 2-horse trailer. I was very pleased to see the trip computer report 7.9 mpg overall. I have 3.73 gears, a 2" lift, and run 87 octane, and do the speed limit, commonly 75, mostly on open roads with no cars or trucks breaking the wind for me. Happy...

    Reverse camera distortion

Instead of taking apart the inside of the tailgate, I keyed on someone's observations that there was a lot of dust in there. I used compressed air to blow out the area around the camera while hitting it with my palm. I did it with all systems on and the car in reverse but not running. I was...

    Reverse camera distortion

I'm having the same problem. Slamming the back window clears it temporarily. I have been driving a lot on dusty roads, so the comment in the instructions about a lot of dust is relevant. Link to instructions below. Thanks for posting them...

People are still very stuck in the old "solid rear axle required" mindset

I pull a 2-horse trailer (3,500 lbs. empty and a lot of windage) with my 2016 Expedition (with 2" lift) quite a bit in wind over 20 mph (usually from 40-50 degrees off front or rear, depending on whether I'm coming or going), at speeds of 70-80 mph. The truck/trailer are solid. If you are...

    Switched to side exit exhaust

I did this a while back, and put the parts and pictures and some tips on the last page of this thread. It has held up well. https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/eco-boost-rear-resonator-delete.37338/page-3#post-322573

    2016 Rear Lift Gate Adjustment?

No, this is definitely coming from the bottom of the lift gate. I can push against the gate at the bottom and reproduce the sound. So, original question: Is there a way to adjust the fit?
