    looks good. i painted my entire dash black. then clearcoated it! hahahh. i like shiny things too! hahahahhahahaha. my entire cargo area is black and herculined, including the plastic. next is the b-pillars, seats, and carpet. then the whole truck will be black!

    i agree. i usually run e85 in my 2010 silverado and that thing only gets about 14mpg. however, the price is DRASTICALLY cheaper, at least in iowa. gas prices are about 3.60 a gallon, but e85 is only 2.69 a gallon. so i run the e85 in the silverado, but need to fuel it just about every week. my...

    i have owned both, a 98 and my 01. i love my 01 but would prefer the t-case and ecu from the 98 with the 2wd option. i like having the A4WD function for instances like mud mentioned, snow and sometimes light mud. i usually only use my 4wd if its gonna get hairy!

    i would have to agree with everybody on here. instead of spending 2k on another vehicle which is just going to have its own problems down the road, just rebuild the tranny and get a used rear-end. then you know you wont have to replace those for awhile! hahha

    its odd that you would need to regear with 33's...i am running 3.55 stock gears on my 35's and i get the same mileage as you. as long as he is quoting you the 300 for labor, i would go for it. you have it in writing so if he tries to change his prices later, you got him.

    01 E.B. moon roof, bunch of other crap. bought in 07 wth 80k miles for 11K. traded my 98 xlt in for it. then put lift and everything else on it after i bought it...love it!

    i have def thought about that. like picking up a cheap yota or something and building that. i really wanna go on that UA trip someday so i need something that can get around well and isnt a full size truck. but i might just pick me up an f150, SAS it, and go from there...decisions decisions!

    and you are right, until i make this my toy, it would not be worth it to SAS it. so this one i will do the body lift, throw some 37's under it and call it good. i will eventually buy another expy and build the hell out of it an make it ready for the UA trip that Petersen's puts on each year...

    exactly, its the labor that is gonna kill me. the spring perches all need to be cut off and moved. there is a lot of fab work that needs to be done. plus do a disk brake conversion. and this is my daily driver so i couldnt take months to finish it. oh, and i have no idea how to weld! hahah

    i agree with the road noise. i ripped the carpet out of the cargo area of the expy so i can just rinse the back out when im done mudding and pull the drain plugs. i have been rethinking the front carpet as well. i am just going to get some black carpet and good floor mats. that should help...
