Hey guys I am getting a misfire on cylinder 1 on my 06 expo with 160k miles. The local Ford service manager and I went for a drive with his computer hooked up to find that it was cylinder 1 because it was not throwing a code.
It only does it around 3,000RPMS and up. We tried swapping coils and...
Hey guys I have an 06 Expedition with 155k on it. I just did the plugs and 3 coils 10k miles ago.
The truck runs great but under WOT at 3500rpms it stutters and then it winds out good after it gets past the stutter. If I hammer down and it downshifts higher than 3500rpms it doesn't stutter. If...
The tick/rattle is coming from inside the motor.
I figured if I am hearing the timing chain or cam phaser rattle or both it is probably a good thing to fix so it doesn't cause any damage.
Don't you guys agree?
Thanks a lot for your help, I'll definitely do the lockout. Does anyone on the forum have the tune for the cam phaser lockout? I have the SCT tuner. Just need the tune.
Also is there a way on the forum to find people in the twin cities that work on these Expeditions?
He had a 2004 with 395,000 miles on it and to my knowledge he never had to do cam phasers or timing chain. Now he has a 2010 that he bought with very low miles on it.
I am having a hard time selling it because of the work I have done recently. Transmission, $1,500 in body work(including core...
Thanks, I have Ford semi synthetic 5w20 oil with Ford oil filter. Is that pretty spendy labor to do the timing chain or cam phasers? Looks like parts are around $200 for each kit.
My 06 Expedition with 150k miles runs great. However if I rev the motor quick in neutral or if I give it a quick acceleration in drive or reverse, the motor makes a ticking/rattling sound like something is loose in there. It only does this at the lower RPMs and then goes away at higher RPMs.
If...
Thanks for all the replies and PMs.
I brought it to the dealer because of the lack of tools I have and they said to replace the entire throttle body.
They warned me that when just replacing one sensor, they get around a 50% return rate for the other sensor or the throttle body going bad as...
Thanks for the help guys, it is a 2006 Expedition Limited, sorry for not providing that.
What about the Fuel Pump Driver Module too? I have read people having similar experiences because the FPDM was so corroded.
Thoughts?
Hey guys the truck died on the side of the road the other day. I got to the side of the road, started it back up, drove for about 10 seconds and then it died again and wouldn't start.
I waited about 15 minutes, then the truck started back up and I drove it 15 minutes home and it seemed to run...
Hey guys I posted a few weeks back a squeaking noise coming from underneath my 06 Expedition. Turns out it was the valve body. This was the 4th one in less than 5k miles!
1st one made the first to second shift hard. 2nd one made the squeaking noise. 3rd one was faulty from the factory so not...
Update: This noise was the valve body. This new tranny is now on the 4th valve body.
1st one made the 1st to second shift hard. 2nd one made the squeaking noise. 3rd one was faulty from the factory. The 4th one should be good now
Good thing I have a 3 year warranty
No I don't plan on lifting. I don't like how the rear wheels look like they sit forward when you lift them.
I just tuned it with an SCT tuner and I want to get a little more sound out of it but haven't decided which way to go for a muffler.
Did you just remove that rubber exhaust hanger then since the tip is much shorter or did you re attach it?
Also if the truck is parked, does the exhaust come up into the truck since it is dumping under the truck?
Hey guys my 4WD is pulling this code and my truck will not go into four wheel drive. Does this sound like it is the 4WD shift motor that needs to be replaced? Any other ideas? Thanks
I plugged in a scanner and the C1998 code pulled and it says "check advancetrac" on the dash now. Could this be why the 4x4 isn't working as it should? Advancetrac needs to be recalibrated?
