Clunking sound while turning in 4WD

4 auto can be driven around on hard surfaces (left on 100% of time). 4 low or hi will bind and make noises-especially during sharp turns.

No hot air and the turbo fan kicks on in cool weather

It was cool enough tonight for me to rotate the temperature to warm and when that wasn't doing anything - I rotated it all the way into the red but still no heat. The A/C works just fine. I'm guessing this is also related to the thermostat telling the godawful loud radiator fan to kick on. It...

    2015 Ecoboost over heating solved

Our 2016 Expy has started kicking on the noisy fan when it is 61 degrees outside. I'm just cruising around town, not towing anything, driving calmly. I was thinking of swapping the thermostat but with 80K miles and this chain of messages - I'm thinking the water pump may need to be replaced...

    Ac fan

What year and model is your Expedition? Do you have the manual or split zone A/C? Having the resister and wiring fail is a very common problem. See thread: https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/2016-manual-a-c-front-blower-working-intermittently-replacement-parts.41876/

Installed the PowerStop Z36 pads & rotors on the front & back (myself)

I believe I saved about $600. Pretty straight forward process-I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Installed the PowerStop Z36 pads & rotors on the front & back (myself)

The Expy had been making noises like it needed new brakes. After a 2,400 mile vacation trip two weeks ago, it started grinding. I ordered the Z36 kit with rotors and pads from Amazon. It took me about 7 hours, spread over two days to get of them done but I am very pleased with the results...

2014 Limited died on vacation yesterday

At least you didn't get in an accident. It does make me question whether the temperature gauge on the transmission is accurate. The weight of the Expy exceeds the limit of a UHaul Auto Transport by a couple thousand pounds and Penske one has a lower max weight. I take it the Lance trailer was...

    P0299 - Low Boost Pressure

Error disappeared on Father’s Day. Hasn’t returned. Do I roll the dice and hope it doesn’t come back in the middle of our 1,000 mile trip in two weeks? Hmmm

    P0299 - Low Boost Pressure

My 2016 XLT with 80,000 just threw this code. We have a trip to Yosemite and Oregon in the next 3 weeks so I hope this is easy to do. I’ll look at the pictures when I’m on my computer and then call Ford parts to set what crazy price they want to charge me.

2017 Expedition EL XLT Sirrus / Cell Phone Connection problems

Hi Tim. Our 2016 has the same problem. Each time we drive by a cel tower it messes up the Sirius XM station. Another member on this forum replace the antenna module thingy and that solved his problem. There is a TSB for earlier models with the same exact problem. A couple years ago I called...

    trailer tow prep pack

If you go with the Ford brake controller then you’ll need to enable it via Forscan (if I recall correctly from other posts). It fits right in the slot and looks nice. I went with the Prodigy brake controller because of my past experience using it on other vehicles. My recommendation is to go...

@1oldtimer which year do you have and where did you order the antenna? Did this solve your Sirius cutout problems?

    Catalytic or cat lock DIY?

I like the chicken wire idea. Back in the 80s car stereo headset thefts were a problem-a friend placed razor blade up near the back of the head unit. Maybe I should make the area around the catalytic look like something from Road Warrior. thx

    Catalytic or cat lock DIY?

Since the rain has stopped maybe I’ll slide under the Expy this weekend and see how I might get creative.

    Catalytic or cat lock DIY?

Sadly catalytic converter theft is on the rise in Orange County, CA. Sheriffs department has arrested several theft rings but it keeps happening each week within a 5 mile radius. Several anti theft products are a combination of cables or plates.

    Catalytic or cat lock DIY?

I have a 4x4 XLT 2016 that I’m worried about having the cat stolen. I don’t want to spend $160+ on the cat clock device plus labor. Thought I’d ask if anyone on this forum has gotten creative and DIY’d an anti theft method themselves?

    GPS Antenna Install

Let us know how it goes. I have a 2016 and the Sirius cuts out every time we go past cel towers. My VIN isn’t included in the TSB.

    Tranny temps

Yes the tranny cooler made a huge difference on our 2016. I wish I’d found an easy write up online and I’d have done it myself. Glad you figured it out.

@MrSticker My thought was to eliminate any possible shorts/grounding problems with the 7 pin connector’s wiring.

    Trailer wiring

Dielectric grease solved problems with my popup trailer and our nonprofit’s trailer. The brass or copper oxidizes very quickly since the connector is exposed to the weather and one taillight or the other wouldn’t blink so I would sand or scrape the connector and this would work for a couple...

    Tranny temps

Pulling a 3,500 lb popup trailer in 100-105 outside temps had me hitting 238 . Had the transmission fluid changed at 50,000 and it was quite black. Had the auxiliary transmission cooler added and now I’ve never seen it go above 212 on short steep grades while towing. Perhaps next July we’ll...
