I couldn't agree with you more! I picked mine up last week after having the defenders put on and have driven a few hundred, but what a difference. The ride quality is back, steering is easier (both in slow turns and at speed) and quieter too. Couldn't believe the difference these have made. I...
bump on this one for other ideas. They claimed they couldn't hear it in December and now again its there and they claim they can't hear it. The sound seems somewhat different than it did in the past (will only do it when moving and turning) but its annoying. Wondering if anyone has found...
I'm at 32,000 and they're pretty much shot. I'd say around 25,000 i really started to notice my ride quality decrease and the wet traction is mediocre at best. I could probably push them to 40,000 but they'd be bald. With the Texas heat coming and the wear/tear that puts on tires, I'm putting...
I'm at 30k miles and am starting to hear a squeak from what I think is the rear. Judging by what i've read here I suspect the rears are shot. For what its worth, my wife's Land Rover LR4 was the same way...always chewed through the rears before the front. Never made any sense to me but the...
Yep, and it appears the platinum now gets the regular ecoboost as well. Used to be that the platinum was advertised as having slightly more HP than the standard (I think 400 vs. 380). I had seen where the platinum would still have it, but doesn't look to be that way on their website now...
My 2019 is sitting at 30k and the OE Hankooks are pretty much toast. Plenty of threads out there with the consensus being that they're mediocre tires at best. Michelin Defenders are by far the most popular choice but i think the tread is softer than others which could cause the wear issue. If...
Wonder if that's because it's got the icon vs. the 3/2 readylift. Also just had a thought...wonder if the ones that have done the bilstein shocks vs the 3/2 still have the same issue?
You’re spot on about the rear tire moving forward. I’ve seen some where it doesn’t look bad and others where it is really pronounced. Can’t figure out what it is that makes the difference.
That’s a good thread. I went around and around with my dealer about a year ago with this issue. Mine was definitely the plastic tray rubbing up against the metal body. The dealer repaired under warranty and all the write up said was “resealed the cargo area.” I think it’s because I keep so much...
Based on what I've read in other threads, there's been no rubbing in most cases with one report of minimal rubbing at full lock in another. Sounds like if you want to be ultra conservative, you can go with a 305/40/22 instead of a 305/45/22...
I've had that happen to me under 5k. It was a a few months old at that point so everything was practically brand new. Never set any codes and everything checked out fine. I restarted twice and then eventually just ignored it and drove it. Has yet to ever happen again and I'm sitting at 30k...
I've had this exact issue repaired on my 2019. There's a broken clock spring inside the steering column that has to be replaced. It's back at the dealer again for this issue and is being repaired under warranty.
I've got nothing but good things to say about my 2019. When looking, I actually wanted a Yukon XL Denali because of the big V8 and overall look. When I went and looked at both, it was a no brainer with how much room there was in the second and third rows of the Expedition. The ecoboost in the...
This looks great! I'm likely going with the 305's on my stock rims when my Hankooks finally give out (which is soon). Looks like it fills the wheel wells out a little more and provides a slightly more aggressive stance without having to mess with the lift.
Oddly enough, I'm experiencing this issue with the steering wheel on our navigator. Seems like the seat is starting to do it as well but nothing with the mirrors yet. My service guy has ordered a new seat memory module (which I'm told controls the mirrors and steering wheel as well). I'll let...
Yep, I was in the same boat. I wanted a 4WD Max Platinum with Tow and bench seat. Couldn't find one in the timeframe I was looking either. The other half overruled me on the bench seat and i've got the captains chairs instead.
What you've described about the defenders being "soft" is my exact hesitation with these. Years ago i had the LTX M/S (which i think are the predecessors to the defenders) on an F-150. they were a great tire, but the longevity wasn't there.
