I'm not sure what a widow maker is. But you use a spring compressor. Maybe you can go rent one, or borrow one from a shop, or parts rental place. It's step 11 in the daystar installation instructions....
11. The use of a coil spring compressor is recommended before the following steps are taken
I think the spacer is supposed to go on top of the spring, but I put mine under. Same diff.
When I did my torsion twist, I didn't jack it up. I just got under and did some on one side, and then did the other side. When I got to the desired height, I made sure they were even. Took a drive around...
Hahahaha . First thing I saw too. Friends don't let friends "cum' over anything . Especially tranny's. Yikes. So many problems with that..... But seriously....
Cool. You are from Vancouver. Been through there a few times on the way to the Sunshine Coast. Had a buddy who lived in Gibson's Landing. We're gonna be in BC ( Kelowna ) for the Taekwondo Championships in about 2 weeks. . My Kids are Gonna kick some butt out there. Love BC. Not that I don't...
So is survivals.. check out this link to what he's doing to his...... http://www.expeditionforum.com/showthread.php?t=15852 Once he gets his lift and tires it's gonna be pretty sweet. But Sol's was one of the best ever on here for sure.
X10 on the plastidip not for the steps. I use it for trim and rims with no problems, but last week I stepped on my bumper with workboots on and scuffed a mark about 1 inch by 1 inch off of the top coat. Easy to touch up with a single spray, but it's not really gonna hold up to constant foot...
i don't know if you even need to lift it. It lookes pretty sweet as is. Like I said. Just throw some aggressive, wider stance tires on it. But if you are thinking about lifting it, that's even better. But good job either way man.
Gonna Plastidip my wheels on the big girl... I've done the trim, I've done the wheels and rockers on my Jeep. I've gone mudding, I've power washed.. this stuff is the real deal, so we don't have to discuss it's strength or longevity.
Just want your opinions on what I'm gonna do. The choices...
Looks great. My only feedback is that you need some more aggressive tires. Some duratracs or something similar. Just more umph...But otherwise, I really like the look you are going for.
Mine loves the mud!!!! I have Hankook Dynapro's and they go through it very nicely.
It's just a pain that it takes 3 days to clean after 15 minutes of fun.....
I was a SeriousExplorations.com or Explorerforum.com member for many years. I still am I guess. This forum ranks right up there with that one. Glad to have you here.
A couple of us even have threads over there as well under the expedition and f150 section. I think Skyjumper from this site is...
Sometimes running a smaller ( Not that a 33 is a small tire ) can make a moderate lift look even bigger. You have a little more room in the fenderwell, and a 5 inch lift ends up looking like a lot more. That being said. sometimes it looks wierd. I have the 315's, but I'm sure the 285 will look...
