    Ford sucks!!!!

$3500 for new head gasket and timing chain $2800 for new oil pump Edit: I ended up not paying this $2800 because I was quoted $1200 at another shop, but when I took it in to the other shop I ended up not doing it there either because they told me the crank bearings were falling apart (see pic...

I don't think i will buy another ford again!!!

Two rebuilds after 65k miles definitely should not be needed, and would make me pretty mad too. The rest is normal wear and tear stuff though. What exactly happened to the transmission?

2006 Exp LTD Frame rotted through. WTF?

I'm betting the previous owner knew about it and that's why they sold it. Did you have a multipoint inspection done when you bought it? It's hard to say if this should be expected since you are not the original owner and you don't know what kind of conditions the vehicle was in. Seeing that you...

    Engine/Tranny issue at high altitude

You lose about 3% power for every 1,000 feet which is 30% at 10,000 feet, and that means you had about 90hp less which will make a huge difference on how acceleration feels. Is is possible the computer was still using an air/fuel mixture from the altitute of where you started your car, and it...

    HELP !!!!????!!!! please ..

The 1999 should not have an ECT sensor, they programed the PCM to do all the math through the CHT Sensor. The 97 -98 5.4L used both ECT and CHT Sensors. If you want to varify this though, here's some info on how to find the ECT sensor: c107 is the ECT sensor in the pic. The ECT switch...

    Cigarette lighter in 2003

After 7 years of not working I finally have the new part sitting on my desk, now I wonder how many years it will be until I decide to install it..I'm hoping by the end of the summer to get everything 100% functional on my expedition... probably going to spend about $6,000 in repairs, the car's...

    Cigarette lighter in 2003

I think it's more of an issue whether there is the bench seat or center console, if there was a "smokers package" it would have been listed on the window sticker.

    running rough

how long did you let it run for? You definitely have some air in your system and can expect it to run rough for atleast 20 minutes. Also you may want to change your fuel filter and see if that helps.

    2004 5.4 - A/C question

Does the A/C blow cold air from the front vents or no cold air at all? Unfortutnely, if you've never replaced the A/C compressor on this it may be time. I have an 03 and have replaced mine twice, once because it was leaking and once because it got water inside it and rusted out.

Better Mileage: <2K RPM or add ons?

I've raced a few 5.3's and the expedition wins every time.

If the Expedition had the following engine options, which would you choose?

They aren't going to replace it, they get no sales for that size of truck due to japanese manufactures taking over in that market. Fords smallest truck after 2012 will be the f150.

If the Expedition had the following engine options, which would you choose?

The MPG ratings were all taken from what the engines currently get in the F150

buying an 05 with 146000 miles, reliability?

Good choice, shit started to hit the fan for my expedition at 140,000.

What is coming for 2012 Expedition?

I guess we should just be happy they haven't discontinued the Expedition like they have with the Excursion, and now the Ranger.

    Expy went into shock?

It's probably a faulty OSS sensor

    Does Anyone Know The Answer???

Sounds like a leak in the hydralic system assuming you are using the correct type and clean brake fluid. Even with the master cylinder replaced there could still be a leak somewhere else in the system.

Better Mileage: <2K RPM or add ons?

1800 rpm is the most fuel effcient rpm for the expedition, but like elevato said, make sure you are barely pressing the gas pedal and slowly work up to speed. Accelerating from a stop is when the expedition uses a ton of gas.

    Police package Rotors?

Why don't you want drilled/slotted rotors? They are especially helpfull for towing. I do almost all freeway driving with no towing, but there have been plenty of times I'm glad I had extra braking power from upgraded rotors.

    Police package Rotors?

Forget about the police package stuff, if you're looking for an upgrade in performance get some slotted or drilled aftermarket rotors (like the powerstop's I have) they will perform better and be half the price. Also with new rotors you should be getting new pads - definitely get ceramic pads -...

    Vibration at 70MPH

It's one of these things: 1. Wheel that is out of balance 2. Bent rim 3.Bent or misaligned driveshaft 4.Bad U-joint. My guess would be #3 since you already had the wheels balanced (double check for bent rims though)

    Fuel Economy

Fill up your tank until the pump clicks off and record how many miles you have or reset the mileage counter. The next time you go to fill up, fill it up again until the pump clicks off, notice how many galllons you put in the tank then divide the amount of miles you drove since your last fill up...

not so impressed with bilstein shocks

The bilsteins must just be bouncy when they are new because after a few months I didn't notice the bouncing anymore when hitting dips. Although, I know have one leaking and even though it has a lifetime warranty I'm still mad that I have to go through the warranty process. Also, just because a...
