I DON'T THINK I WILL BUY ANOTHER FORD AGAIN!!!

I need to get this off my chest and let anyone who sees this post know that my 05' Expedition Eddie Bauer is a pile of crap! The only silver lining is that the service Mgr Jeff at Encinitas Ford is great and has bent over backwards to try to help me out where he could.

I DON'T THINK I WILL BUY ANOTHER FORD AGAIN!!!

I have experienced one problem after another with a pampered 6 year old car with less then 65k miles on it. I am being nickeled and dimed to death on a well maintained grocery getter my wife loves to drive.

I DON'T THINK I WILL BUY ANOTHER FORD AGAIN!!

The first ding that I had to overcome was the car's supposed 14 to 18 mpg, as it has never topped 13mpg since I have had it. For such a well looked after vehicle I have had major issues. I have had repaired or rebuilt my transmission (now for the second time), throttle body and motor assembly, window motor, rotors, paint cracking under the clear coat ...

I DON'T THINK I WILL BUY ANOTHER FORD AGAIN!!

I don't know what to do. My wife and I spent a lot of our hard earned earned money on what we thought was a really nice car. The worst part about it is that my wife loves this care with all of the bells and whistles but I am at my wits end. The dealer can only do so much but times are tuff and after a multi Billion dollar BAIL OUT I want a little back!! If anything I just want people to think twice about buying a car from a manufacturer who's slogan "Quality is job one" sounds great but is only that words. The proof is in the pudding as they say and I have just not seen it. So yes I guess $40,000 does not buy you what it used to but it should buy a car that runs and looks great for years to come.

I DON'T THINK I WILL BUY ANOTHER FORD AGAIN!!

Ford did not take the bailout
the trans is the only major issue you have had

possible prior user.

it could be that the prior owner ragged the truck out. seeing that the rotors went bad indicates heavy braking, the transmission and throttle body could be from rapid acceleration. and poor gas milage indicates both. maybe the previos owner drove it like a mustang. just a possibility. ive had the same problems with an f150 that was drove pretty hard when new.

Two rebuilds after 65k miles definitely should not be needed, and would make me pretty mad too. The rest is normal wear and tear stuff though. What exactly happened to the transmission?

did you buy this new or used?...because it sounds like someone towed something really large then traded it in...killed the tranny and brakes..sure sign of towing a LARGE trailer or boat that was overrated....

Esbaum, I just noticed you live in San Marcos.... me too. I usually go to Escondido Ford though, I think it's a lot closer then Encinitas.

Two trans rebuilds just goes to show that the person who did it the firest time didn't know what they were doing.

Also, if you're really concerned about mileage, you don't go out and buy an Expedition.

Let's condemn an entire manufacturer because one guy got stuck with a lemon. Sounds reasonable.

i agree with everything they said...had my rotors go out last year...2010...minus a year for not being driven because i was in afghanistan...so it needed to be done in 5 yrs...had it for 7...but thats the only prob i've had until recently where i need to change my fuel pump...i think 05 was a teeter-totter year for the expedition anyways...
