Finally, I got a password to get it:
PCM - THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE IS LOCATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FIREWALL. THE VSS WIRE IS IN THE PLUG CLOSEST TO THE FENDER, PIN 13
Reverse Lights BLACK/PINK (+ polarity) DRIVER KICK PANEL, HARNESS TO REAR
I'm at 50k on my 2003 and they have some good life left. Most of it is highway though with the wifey having the ambilical cord snap back to her momma. (450 miles)
I think it's the brake dust that gets in there, you know how bad it is on our cars. Try using the wheel degreaser and pressure...
Do you have a picture of them? I have some holes, but it's where the stryrofoam from the panel fits in. I highly doubt they are for another set of speakers.
What year do you have? If it's the 2003 and up, the only place would be Ebay, all others seem to not be much below MSRP. You have to make sure that the bolt pattern is 6 x 135mm. If you have an earlier model, you can look at discount tire direct (www.tires.com), ebay, or several other on-line...
Look at the belt and see if it is worn. If it is, replace it, they are like $17 at AutoZone. If it's not worn, the tension may be too tight. You can lubricate it with belt dressing to make it stop squealing in the mean time though.
Maybe they disconnected the antenna in the back of the radio. Sometimes people put the stock decks back in the vehicle when they sell it and forget to reconnect it.
That's a perfect link for you then. It's got the wires that you need coded. Just follow the non Pre-Wired steps.
Just out of curiousity, why would you change them? I personally think that the plastic amber cheapens the look of the Eddie Bauer's.
Yep, clip in the sail area.
Pull the entire door towards you first. There are a couple of them near the bottom and one near the mid left side (it's easier with a clip puller, but it should be okay if you don't have one). If you go back and look at the picture in the link there is a circular...
I just went out and took off the door again to make sure I wasn't dreaming.
-First, I removed 5 screws (3 phillips, 2 Torx).
-Removed the panel for the power windows and door locks, disconnecting the clips.
-Next, I went around the edges and pulled out to remove a few tension clips.
-Last...
Did you disconnect the power window and locks? If so, it sounds like you just need to lift up and towards the door with a little bit of oomph. Make it steady, there is a plastic piece that is like a little hook that keeps the door aligned.
I found a pdf file at the following link on how to remove the 2003's front door just in case anyone is interested in replacing the speakers. It is a DIY install link on blinker mirrors that are available for the company........ http://www.kwmuth.com/techsupport/pdfs/21000860.pdf
When I was installing, people always brought them in to have them looked at. A couple of quick questions:
-Did the CD's previously work or are the CD-R's?
-Does it have a "reset" button?
Just as I was telling my wife the other day how we don't have any problems with the expy, one occurs. When the rear air is on, there is a rhythmic clicking sound in the rear quarter panel. It only happens when the temperature is on cold though. Any thoughts?
I can't believe I jinxed...
Guys and gals,
Ordered a few custom logo stickers from Scott and must say they are awesome. For a good price he sent me a .jpg file of the logo. Shipped, paid and received in less than a week. Good fundraiser idea as well!
I ended up buying some for $495. They are the Heritage Edition 18's. Why not get new wheels and tires for the price of tires. Besides, the local tire shop said that they would give me $125 for the OEM rims. Net cost is $350 installed. As for the balancing and rotating, we bought a lifetime one...
I can't imagine how many times you will be flashed for having your brights on. I rode in a new Escalade and it seemed like every third car was flashing us. I guess that it's the combination of the height and the brightness. Take a before and after pic with your lights pointing at the garage or...
