So the next day, I jacked up the truck and slid the tube back into the transmission then duck taped it from moving up in the engine compartment. Not the best fix but hey it works for now, I then added one quart of fluid and everything seems back to normal. Thanks for your help once again
Ok thank you for the help, I was wondering if it simply slid in to place, so ill take a better look at it tomorrow and see if I can figure something out
How does the tube seal to the transmission? I can find a way to keep the tube stationary no problem, but that does me no good if I can't be sure it's sealed up at the tranny perfectly
Ok so I just got the truck going and went to back out of the driveway. It keeps bogging down and almost stalling when I let off in reverse, and shifts to drive kinda rough. Also noticed red fluid under where it was parked. I need some help with what to do, the entire check tube assembly is loose...
I agree with oblivion, they sell many different types so you could do one as simple as bolting it on your license plate or you could custom fit it somewhere hidden like I did mine. They wiring is fairly simple and they start off pretty cheap too, I think I paid like 40$ for mine a couple years...
my friend used to have the same type of headlights on his f150, he always complained about how they seemed to dim the light output compared to stock. I was the one who installed them so i know they used the same stock 9007 bulbs but the light output on the ground just seemed dim, so be careful...
i dropped mine with a 3" kit from canuck motorsports, overall ride height actually came down 5". i can agree with ydopen about hitting the frame on bumps, except i tend to hit the control arms in the front off the frame rather than the rear. but it seems like anywhere around 4ish" is when you'll...
freeway, i used to have that same one........until over the summer it decided to randomly turn itself on overnight and burned itself out. Woke up 3 of my neighbors and smoke was coming off of the compressor when i went to rip the wires out to stop it, so i deff wouldnt recommend getting it
my neighbor is a painter and has done this on motorcycles recently, he did a shelby themed bike and wanted the stripes to go through the headlight so he candy'd it and it matched perfect with the bike since he was doing candy on the whole thing. you could see slight lines in the light pattern on...
a good alarm with a starter interrupt relay...my truck is set up so that when the alarm is triggered the starter is disabled. This wouldnt be much of a help if someone wanted to steal it with a flatbed but it's better than nothing
one simple thing i always do at junkyard is pull as many fuses as possible....you can usually get them for "free" and they'll probably come in handy at some point. I just grab as many as possible and build up a variety, just good to have
So i was home from school over the weekend and before starting the truck (had been sitting for a month) I went to check my fluid levels and upon pulling the tranny fluid stick, the whole metal tube it slides into pulled loose and is now free to move around. It looks like there was a metal...
I actually just replaced mine a couple months ago, it really wasnt hard at all as long as you have the right tools. Best advice i can give is to take off the wheel and wheel well liner and have some pb blaster (penatrating oil) and a bunch of extensions and swivels...it'll make your life 10x...
I've never had to specifically deal with that but you can easily take those dash pieces out in about a half hour. I had to remove all of them to do my leather wrap and it wasn't too bad
Well I went a picked up a can of AC PRO to try. When I hooked up the can and turned the ac on, the clutch didn't spin at all and the pressure gauge on the can didn't show any pressure. So I added a decent amount until the clutch would turn on and off momentarily. After killing the first can, my...
So the ac in my truck hasnt blown cold in years but I just never cared enough to bother with it until now. My question is if anyone has any experience with those recharge cans they sell at auto stores? I was at the store tonight and was reading the instructions on the can and it seemed really...
