here's a shot in the dark....
the spring return mecanism that keeps the little door to hide the pair of power outlets on my 98' closed , no longer does it's job -
has anyone ever dealt with this ?
is it an 8 hour job to pull the dash out in order to fix it from behind ?

curious if anyone has actually bothered with this...

I've never had to specifically deal with that but you can easily take those dash pieces out in about a half hour. I had to remove all of them to do my leather wrap and it wasn't too bad

I had to replace mine, you have to replace the door itself. There is a plastic nub that holds the spring and it snaps off. It is not to bad. You have to remove the radio bezel and the trim around the cluster. After that there are just a few screws holding the main piece on. It seems like a lot but its really pretty simple and only takes about 10 minutes to get the pieces out.
