    My Expy

That's the only way to use an expy. Dgray, did you paint your chrome bumper black, or is that bedliner? It looks really good, how is it holding up?

    treycools truck

How high is the wall you climbed? Is your truck stock? I climbed a 2 foot rock with mine stock and she was pretty maxed out. I almost took out my driver's mirror last week. I got pulled out of some snow in the mountains in the dark, and was stuck in ruts along some trees, but got lucky that I...

    Hello everybody

I've already posted a bit, but I will introduce myself again. I received my 1999 Expedition from my parents last summer, and am always looking for ways to make it better, or more unique. I am a Junior at the university of Wyoming as a Wildlife Biology undergrad. I will have to take some pictures...

    Trans dipstick

i think someone on here was talking about that the other day and said that there are 2 transmissions, one with and one without a dipstick. I think the tranny with out a dipstick is a sealed unit, and not suppose to have the fluid changed for life or something like that.

    low heat

If your water pump is bad, they usually will leak, and the motor should overheat. You might have air in your system which could cause your problem.

    powdercoating

When my grandpa powder coated all of the parts for restoring his tractor, he took them to a guy in town and he did everything. It would probably cheaper to find someone local than to ship the wheels to have them done.

    gas mileage

I really love driving downtown when the buildings are really tall and close together, then she really gets loud and echoes off of everything. With my 15-16 mpg, I could get better, but the only time I've really gone on long trips is on the interstate, and everytime I go home or to school, it...

yo boiler post ur lightning supercharger swap!

I didn't notice that the first time, but you can't put a bow tie on it unless its leaking somewhere and all chromed out.

What do you have done...in the inside?

I'll have to look into that, its not a big deal, but just something I would like to get done so that it will look better.

what have you done for your expy today?

haha, looks like its a pretty slow day for all the expy's. I didn't do anything with mine today, but might have to go play around in the mountains this weekend.

    mirrors

I didn't notice until after I posted, but he has a single cab, so with the bigger mirror base of the expedition, it might be even easier to fab up. . .

yo boiler post ur lightning supercharger swap!

I have to agree. . . did you guys check out the 1200 hp TT 5.4 they make too? It would be a nice addition for an expy

What have you done on the outside?

I have 2 Hella 500 ff behind the grill, and am looking to get some lights for the roof rack soon. Other than that, I made some CB antenna mounts out of 2 inch angle iron, but need to get some longer whips soon.

What do you have done...in the inside?

I haven't done anything to my interior except put in a factory CD player instead of the old tape player, and a CB radio. Does anyone know where you can find paint to match the dash? My insert piece around the radio is starting to chip. The dash is tan color.

    Smilies!

Have to agree. The smilies are awesome. . . .:shooter: :pedobear:

Build your own trailing arms and Track bar

When I changed all my bushings this summer, I used a big breaker bar to break all of the bolts loose, and they were pretty tight with that, so I would imagine they would be pretty hard to get off with a wrench.

    gas mileage

What year and motor do you have? My 1999 4.6 gets 15-16 hwy and who knows in town, I can never keep my foot out of it with my exhaust lol

    mirrors

Here is a guy who actually swapped his out for a set of 99 super duty mirrors. Why buy parts that fit when you can have the fun of doing it yourself and have the real super duty mirrors  http://www.f150online.com/forums/1997-2003-f-150/405175-how-super-duty-mirr-swap.html

    mirrors

Those are cool mirrors, they remind me of the super duties. If they are made for the 2000 F150, wouldn't they work on the 1st gen expy's. I would be interested in bigger mirrors for mine too.

Build your own trailing arms and Track bar

Have you gotten your energy suspension bushings yet? When I bought mine this summer, the inside diameter of all of the sleeve inserts for the rear control arm bushings were 1/16" to small, so I had to get 5/8 drill bit to bore them out to fit the bolt through.

    E load tires?

I have E load BFG ATs on mine. They ride a little harder, but I think its worth it. Since they are a harder tire, they tend to wear better, and are much better off road. Most of the areas I drive in the mountains have lots of rocks, so I like the 10 ply tires. Just my opinion. Zerick

Where to buy tires and wheels

I was going to buy my tires from discounttire.com, but they were out of the stock for the tire I wanted. I ended up going to a local shop in town and got them my BFG ATs for a reasonable price.

What have you done to YOUR engine

K&N drop in, catback dual exhaust with 3 1/2 tips. I haven't done the gotts mod yet, but once I get the supplies, I can do a write up if nobody has.

    Whats your ride?

My name is Zerick, the ride is a 1999 spruce green Expedition XLT, with the little 4.6 stock for now, but will be getting 2 inch rear spacers and TT this summer. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!!!!

    What to do??

I'm not sure how your weather is now, but I changed mine this summer in my front yard, standing on a 5 gallon bucket. Its not super hard to do, but takes patience. You just need a 3/8 ratchet, some extensions and a spark plug socket. Thats all it took for my 4.6 and when I pulled off the wires...
