    Random Cyl Misfires

    The misfires I listed were per hour with the truck running. He drove it for about 2 hours and let it sit at idle for 2 hours after he got back. Its a very random misfire he says. He is going to track it down tomorrow and let me know what it could be. But till then Im stumped.

    He has one of those expensive Snap-On scanners that does like everything. He drove it around with the scanner but he did add the injector cleaner before he drove around. He said he had it on for about a couple of hours while driving then let it sit for another 2 hours.

    yes I have noticed a decrease in engine response but it has this tug kinda like a pulsating at 35mph, 55mph and 65mph. The spark plugs were changed and the the #6 COP was dead and replaced, and the EVAP solenoid vacuum line was replaced cause it was leaking. They changed the fuel filter also...

    I wonder if the aperture is stuck on the flywheel and the solenoid is just clicking? I had that happen to my Ford Escort once and beat the crap out of it and still didn't turn over, then I took it to a shop and they said it the aperture was stuck on the flywheel and they have never seen...

    BTW a blow out is bad on your triton, can strip the plug hole and take out your coil on plug real quick, it will sound like a bad exhaust leak if it did do the notorious "Blowout".

    Elevato, thats what I did turned the O/D on and it threw the code, it will blink at ya then stay steady. I'd just take a flat head and stick it down the COP and see if it archs off some metal but make sure your handle is isolated with rubber or something cause I did that once without a handle...

    Yeah mine turned out to be a bad line and popped that code P1451. I guess those lines are really fragile after time.

    Update: Ok so spending 160 bucks turned out to be a good investment. Changed all 8 spark plugs, changed #6 cyl COP and changed a leaking evap solenoid line. Runs like a champ now, just need to change the fuel filter now and fill up with premium :D

    I have a 97 EB that did the same thing but on cyl 6, changed the spark plugs and turned out that the #6 cyl COP was bad and replaced it and havent had a problem.

    LED Bulbs for exterior.

    I have LED brake/turn/headlight LEDs for the rear. You have to get an electronic LED flasher to make them work properly or you will get a fast blink like a damn Honda. I got mine at V-Leds.com for $17. It looks a hell of a lot better at night and hella bright.

    Ok well I took it to a good repair shop, turned out all my spark plugs were bad. LOL my bad. Anyhow, the other code that popped up for the EVAP solenoid turned out to be an electrical issue to the part, so they are going to track it down tomorrow. Price for all 8 spark plug change: $100...

    It was a p1451 code but it turned out to be an electrical issue to that particular part.

    Its been like 20k since the plugs were changed. How can the EVAP code and misfire on that cylinder be related to the spark plugs? I was looking on the F-150 forums and someone had the exact same issue and engine as I do and he changed out the COPs and the plugs and the evap purge solenoid...
