I took it in and they ended up upgrading the pads to a thermaquiet brake.
Immediately a better brake and the squealing was gone.
It might be due to the much bigger tires I have on it for rolling weight maybe?
Fixed!
I am not sure about the spray.
I am taking it in again on Saturday. I'll have to check with the mechanic.
Is there a chance that is it the combination of material type of pads and rotors?
I purchased some Destination MT/R's about a year and a half ago.
They have been pretty good to me. They look great! They were phenomenal in deep snow. However, I have grown tired of them because I have switched jobs and now I drive a lot. I am wearing them down very fast and would like to...
I purchased some new front pads and rotors on my 07 Expedition in the beginning of June. From the beginning, they were a little squealy but it was not terribly bad. The next month, I did the rear pads and rotors.
The front started to squeal when braking more and more, so I brought it back to...
Looks like I sure did. I did not end up having them done, so I would not know the cost.
The original issue was brake squealing and was trying to get prepared for a rotor/brake pad job.
I am only looking for an idea on front (pair) replacement, medium quality, rotors.
The rotors should not be that expensive from what I see. The cost of the job in hours is what I was looking for. I know there is a range of pricing, but an estimate is okay.
Some shops here won't quote, because they think you are the competition looking to outbid them. Great customer...
I have a 2007 and after our wicked cold and sloppy winter, I now have bouncing in my brakes when I stop. From experience, I know this to be rotors. How much should it cost me to replace the rotors at a shop?
I have a 2007 Eddie Bauer Expedition and I am going to get a set of winter wheels (ARE) but I need to know what the OEM are so I can get the right winter set.
I have the 18" wheels now.
What pattern are the OEM wheels for my truck?
Well, I did it. I was able to get the Truxx 3/2 installed and got new tires. I ended up going with 275/70/18 Destination M/T's because I was at a Firestone shop.
Here is the original truck...
and now...
Big difference right away. Going from a Nexus 255/70/18 to the 275/70/18 was...
Best tires question!
I have a 2007 non EL and I am looking for aggressive looking 31" or 33" that can handle water.
I live in NY and we get all weather types. Dry, Wet, Ice, etc.
I like the Firestone M/T's but they don't have siping and I was told it would be scary in the rain. - Agreed.
I...
Not sure about size, but I am thinking about the GoodYear Dura Trac's and the Firestone Destination AT's.
The GoodYear's look great. Aggressive on the sides, but I fear they are made out of butter and would not last long.
What a weird thing. When I opened up the sunroof, there were no obstructions at all in there, yet I did the task.
Good news. It has rained twice here in the last week and I have not had any pooling.
Great advice all.
Thanks everyone. On a nice sunny day, I opened up the sunroof and found those two drain holes. I took a can of air and blew air down the opening. Hopefully this will clear the issue.
I am not sure where this is supposed to come out at the bottom, but if needed, should I take a length of plastic...
So this is still an unresolved issue for me. I have not made the attempt to fix this yet.
I don't want to go to the dealer on this unless I have to.
When I turn on button for either the AC/air or heat, the button shows either blue for cold or red for about 1 second. Then it disappears. Both...
My Expedition has a small pool of water on the drivers side floor after it rains.
Investigating, the A pillar is wet at the top and the water seems to come down the pillar and behind the knee kick, then down the inside foot well near the door. I cannot for the life of me, find the leak. I do...
Thank you everyone for the advice. It helped me determine and feel good about my Truxx 3/2 lift. I just received it in the mail and hope to have it installed this weekend. Then, of course, new pics.
Once this is installed, we then need to talk about tires!!
I am thinking of the Firestone...
