    Check vacuum line going into the firewall just below the PCM . If there's no vacuum to the control solenoid under the dash the front vent control won't work properly. Make sure the vacuum line is attached to the hot water valve.... Vacuum supply line firewall pass-thru grommet...

    How many miles are on the current motor ? It's only about another hour to pull the entire motor, as to pull just the heads anyway. Those harness bracket bolts on the back of the passenger-side head are the biggest pain of the whole operation.... LOL. Precision Engine Performance Crate Motors...

    Look for vacuum leaks. That'll cause your P0172, P0174 codes, and misfires as well. Bad coil boots will also cause misfires. The easiest way to find vacuum leaks is with a smoke machine. If you don't have access to one of those you're just gonna have to do it by close inspection and listening...

    Do you have a fuel pressure gauge ? What kind of fuel pressure are you getting at the fuel rail schrader valve ? You should see 45-55 psi with the key ON. .

    If its not the valve cover gasket. There is a small oil passage plug that screws into the back side of the heads, where the chain tensioners would be on the front end. The heads are interchangeable and drilled and machined on both ends for chain tensioner mounting. That tiny allen screw plug...

    That's just a vent hose, it's supposed to be there, just zip tied secure to the filler pipe.

    What's the steering wheel doing ? There's a snap ring under the clock spring at the steering wheel end. Is that still in place ? Have you pulled the clock springs off ? .

    The CHT sensor is in the driver's side head, just under the intake manifold. You can remove the alternator to get to it if need be. It was plugged in when you put the intake back in place right ? There is no temp sensor in the crossover pipe. You can unplug the ABS harness and inspect the plug...

    It's drivable right ? Clear the codes and drive it a few miles see how it does. Do you have a laptop and the ForScan app ? Or a code reader that shows live data ? What's it show for engine temp ? .
