The p1405 is upstream dpfe sensor hose concern, could be a clogged hose, best bet is to replace the sensor and hoses. The other 2 codes are fuel control codes for the driver's side. Which is most likely the o2 sensor getting slow. I recommend checking for vacuum leaks at the PCV hose before you...
I use a spark plug socket with a u-joint then a 2 inch ext with another u-joint and another long ext then the wrench. You do not have to remove the fuel rail. They are not that easy, but very do-able.
I think that the canister is located on the drivers's side frame rail, next to the spare tire. It is a round canister that is just over a foot long. THere is a vent solenoid located on it. Is your truck setting a check engine light?
THere is a valve that looks like a tire air valve that is the fuel pressure port, you can check fuel pressure there. It is located on the passenger side of the engine above the #3 spark plug coil on the fuel rail. Should be a black tire cap on the valve.
Also to check to see if the fuel pump...
When you say you tried to start it, does it turn crank over? If it does not it maybe the starter solenoid. If it cranks, but does not start, there are many things it could be( fuel pump, eec power relay, fuel pump relay, inertia switch, crank sensor...) A little more info.
I do not know of any way to update the seats to the latch system. I have never seen a kit, and I work a a dealership. I think that they came out with the latch system in 03? so I dont even think you could swap seats from another rig.
I looked on the window sticker of my 2000 that came with the tow package and it said it came with 3.55 gears. I have a big boat (22ft cabin) that weighs alot and I could have used a bit more gear, but I did not tow that much. I found that peak milage was at 65 mph and got 18-18.5 mpg. If I went...
As long as the plug is the correct plug for that engine, I cannot see why it would really make a difference. But if you are allready having problems with the plugs, you might think of changing them out before another one goes out.
But, before you get to that, just try replacing the one plug...
You might try getting yours rebuilt. There is a great driveline shop in seattle called "Drivelines Northwest". You might GOOGLE them and check into that. Or see if there is a local place.
After reading your other post of how your truck runs, the code is most likely a P0308 and your code reader is throwing in the "E". The code means that there is a misfire on #8 cylinder. I have lots of problems with the bosch spark plugs and would not recommend them to anyone. (recommend...
I looked in the 06 and 07 PCED's and did not find that code. I do driveablity work (Yes, a FORD Tech) and have not seen that code. what are you using to retrieve the code? what year is the truck (or car)? And does it run poorly? Most of the time a p0308 means a misfire on the #8 cylinder. There...
Be warned that the PCV valves that are sold at aftermarket parts places are often very general in there applications and will either flow to much or not enough thru it causing oil build up in the intake, or a runablity problem. Ford PCV valves costs a little more but usually work much better...
just changing the battery should not make the truck forget the key fob, the truck learns the frequency of the fob and stores it in the module. The program procedure is turn the key from off to the run position 8 times ending in the run position(within 10 seconds or so, so be quick), the power...
It would be helpful to know the number of the codes? P0401 and p0460? The p0401" lack of egr flow could be the dpfe sensor not reading correctly which is common. The other common thing that gets clogged up is the egr ports in the elbow the connects the throttle body to the intake manifold. This...
Remove the door panel( dont forget the screw in the coutesy lamp at the bottom of the door panel) and try some lithuim gease in the tracks and the pivets/ slides on the regulator assembly in the door. ( not the actual window run/felt part). And some WD40 type lube to get into the parts a brush...
try looking at the back of the throttle body neck/elbow. it is hard to see, but is very common for those to go bad(pcv hose), our dealership normally stocks each type of pvc hose assembly. A common question they will ask is if the hose is heated or not. on some applications that have a second...
