Child Latch Anchor system??

Hi all,
I have a 99 Eddie Baurer and was wondering if there is an after market part I can buy to make the SUV have the newer child safety anchor/latch system for the child safety seats. Please any help is appreciated.

I would realy like ton know as I have two young ones and would like to use the anchor system.

I do not know of any way to update the seats to the latch system. I have never seen a kit, and I work a a dealership. I think that they came out with the latch system in 03? so I dont even think you could swap seats from another rig.

LATCH seats are backwards-compatible with non-LATCH vehicles, and proper installation makes non-LATCH equally safe. LATCH just makes installation easier, according to this site:

I understand that the latch seat are retro compatable. The Big problem I have is the center seat belt isn't working and I would feel alot more comfortable knowing that there was a latch systme that I Know once attached isn't going to misteriously stop working like the seat belt did. Thanks for the link.

At that point I would be inclined to either say move to another seat or to get teh seatbelt fixed. Latch system or not, failure of the seatbelt will not keep the child safe in the case of an accident.
