Thank you. That's a start and could start my understanding of what component was being directly shorted and therefore damaged.
I realize you're going off memory but from what you've said, I could have damaged the fuel pump inertia switch, the circuit board on the fuse box, or possibly even the...
I've had this 2003 Expy for a few years and until today, never knew the the previous owner had scabbed in a wire that at some point went to something.
Well... When I went to start my truck up to go home after work she didn't crank. Just... Nothing. Then I noticed the PRNDL error on the dash so I...
I got a hold of a 3.5/3 leveling lift for my Bonnie and I can tell you a resounding yes. The ball joints, inner/outer tie rods, upper control arms will fail fast. The new angles will finish worn parts out within weeks. When you replace them, replace them with the best so the have most possible...
Possibly but I also have 3" spacers to compensate for loss of vehicle width from the lift.
Like I said, it was a minimal minimal rub that was filed (not trimmed) away.
There was the teeniest rub at the very very bottom of the front of the front fender well while turning only.
Didn't even have to trim, only file.
Like, maybe 2.5 inches up. A very minor rub.
It's a 2nd Gen with a 3.5 Front/2.5 Rear lift. The tires are 35x12.50R17 Ironman All Country M/T's.
She also had new KYB strut assemblies on all four corners so there's zero sag.
There is an adage that I always apply to vehicles and every single part I replace, add, or modify on them.
"It is better to have and not need, than to need and not have."
As I stated originally. At that critical moment, when lives are at stake, and extreme evasive maneuvers have been taken...
Again, apples and oranges BUT it also depends on the car.
A high end car will come with very nice rubber while an entry level Hyundai will come with cheap tires, shocks, seats, etc.
Your points are moot.
The LT will be far superior to the P rated tire, period.
There's ALWAYS a ying/yang...
No, in a p perfect world yes but the world isn't perfect and in a specific situation such as an evasive maneuver to avoid an accident that sidewall on the P Tire will fold and can lead to increased likelihood of lost control or even roll over. When s*** hits the fan and the moment of truth is...
Please don't take this wrong but only a fool installs P-rated tires on a vehicle of this weight.
You'll save money but when it counts the most, odds are, you'll pay with your life.
Anyone know if the running boards need removing to clear 35's?
(RWD w/ 3.5" front / 2.5" rear lift, stock rims, 3" spacers)
Bonnie's about to undergo another metamorphosis.
I just finished up the other side. Now to let them dry at least a week for clearcoat.
OH!!
I also received the 2x 1 yard blacklight LED strips that will go in the femderwells.
I decided to go with all 'Supreme' Mevotec parts.
Every part has a grease fitting and instead of rubber, silicone boots.
I went with KYB strut assemblies at all four corners because it's the top a matched set. Plus I've almost always done KYBs on my vehicles.
