This morning:
From startup, had "Service Engine Soon" lit up and the attached codes were read by Torque.
FYI: I've been throwing this code off/on for a while now. Not sure if it's related to my fuel pump relay issue or not.
Bedrick,
May I have the first image/diagram (CJB) as a downloadable PDF attachment like C270a is? The text is sharper and way easier to read than the one that is showing.
I've had a generic BT OBD II scanner with TorquePro installed on a dedicated $40 FireTab since mid 2016. No problems with either.
Lately though. I've been thinking about getting BlueDriver because it's a matched set, reader and app plus it/they claim it also reads ABS and transmission codes...
It doesn't hurt to throw it out there. I'm gonna pull a part from another Expy for the short-term as I won't know it's history or dependability.
I'm going to continue to research for an improved long-term solution. Who knows, I might be able to engineer that flaw out.
Not to mention, it's...
I'm not ignoring your advice. It's spot on.
I definitely will ensure that the replacement fuse box part number matches.
The ideas I have with a standard but heavy duty relay is a long-term improvement over OEM if I can figure it out. Especially the ability to adjust the voltage (flow)...
I'm wondering this. Could I just add a potentiometer like this one LINK to a bypass of the fuel pump relay circuit that would allow manual voltage control for low need scenarios such as surface street driving or stop and go traffic?
Perhaps even allow one to find better "sweetspots" for both low...
I came across this thread LINK and please see the large paragraph under ***EXPLANATIONS***
"variable duty signal cycle to the fuel pump" which makes sense to me for fuel efficiency.
Edit: I'm also trying to avoid a situation like ExpyGirl03 had where she replaced the fuel pump relay only to...
So, after getting 100 miles to half a tank of gas, I realized the PCM is not just sending power to the relay but controlling the voltage therefore controlling the amount of fuel being supplied.
Now I'm wondering this. Could I just add a potentiometer like this one LINK to the circuit that...
BEDRCK47,
Question:
I looked at that plug you mentioned and there is (From the top), Orange, Red, Red/Yellow. Which one of the two Reds are you referring to?
