WOW.... so I was led to this thread today because our 2022 Timberline is behaving the same way.
Our Expy JUST turned over 20k miles yesterday. While my wife was driving the truck home from work, I received a "Powertrain System Fault" notification from the Ford Pass app, as soon as the truck...
Well I hate to resurrect an 3+ year old post, but our '22 Timberline has started to do this with the passenger side mirror. Very intermittent.
When we pull our Expy into the garage at night, we need to fold the mirrors in as we pull in; otherwise the vehicle would not fit through the garage...
The front camera is mounted behind the mirror; it is actually in the first photo above, you just can’t see it.
The rear camera was mounted at the top of the rear glass on the lift gate/hatch.
Welp, all done.
There are four clips, which I hope the photos show well. I used a relatively wide trim tool.
It seems that the far left and far right clips are the ones you have to pop out first, then the two center-most ones will follow when you pull it off.
Turns out that what appears like...
Well, I’m going to be removing it this evening…. I’ll let you folks know how it goes.
This seems to be how to do it, on the Maverick:

Does anyone here know the proper name for this “module” that sits atop the rearview mirror? Or better yet, how I can safely remove its cover?
This is on my ‘22 timberline, and I’m trying to install a dash cam. A clean install would have me route wires behind it. There’s definitely an area...
Update: decided to just use the USB ports to power the Dashcam (for now) because 1) they definitely turn off after a minute or two after opening/closing the doors, and 2) the power indicator on my 12v usb adapter is still ON after several hours of being away from the vehicle.
Well I just installed a dash cam, which I plan to later hardware, and it’s currently plugged into the 12v lighter socket to the right of the center console. It’s been about 1/2 and hour, and it’s still powered. I have a ‘22.
I’m interested in keeping this thread going. Mostly because I want someone to explain to me why the stock LEDs work fine on the higher trims. Yes, I know there’s a difference in load/resistance. But is it really just a matter of the higher trims being coded (FORScan) differently? This is...
I agree… so rather than have the adaptive cruise handle the situation, I kill cruise control when I approach other vehicles. But you’re right, a simple lane change to pass a slower vehicle can result in the truck really laying on the accelerator to get back up to speed quickly.
I’ve never actually used the truck for what it can do towing-wise, but of course it would be horribly lower than that if I did.
For what it’s worth, our other vehicle is a Prius, so for a while I was into hyper-miling. That’s difficult to do in an Expedition, lol
No I don’t. But that’s not a bad idea.
But the noise I’m hearing is the little electric motors/actuators (that control what I guess are the wastegate valves) making adjustments after start up. As soon as the engine is started, they move slightly, but after the initial high idle slows down...
Well it turns out that you can't post videos here in the forum, so I will just describe it. Forgive me if the terminology is wrong.
There is a wastegate linkage that runs between the gate and the actuator. Upon the first cool down step, it moves back and forth for a second or two... almost...
Just curious if anyone else has experienced/is experiencing this.
First, I'm not talking about the cam phasers (I think). The noise I'm hearing is coming from the underside of the truck.
As I'm sure you all know, when you first start the truck it idles higher - at about 1200 rpm or so - for...
Does this have anything to do with priority/override? ie., it's defaulting/going back to the rear setting's preference, unless you override/lock the rear passenger from being in control
Well for what it’s worth, the one time I had to “reset” our Timberlines head unit screen (that far-left and far-right steering wheel button hold procedure), our system also showed a Mach-E photo and interface at first. After a few trips, it reset itself. It’s definitely weird.
But I’m...
For segments where I’m doing about 78 mph, I’m getting an average of just over 20 mpg. But I’ve noticed that for long stretches where I’m going about 55-65 mph, the average is closer to 25 mpg. So it looks like the sweet spot for max average mpg is somewhere around 60. I use cruise control as...
