All programmers are going to give you the same basic tune. Max power on the otane is the best you can do. Everybody has the same tune..... I like the sniper tuning "special forces" software because it had the most features. Their kit also allows you to program 2 ford vehicles with your...
Unless the thing catches on fire I think your requests and complaints will fall on deaf ears. I will be interested to see what exactly broke... send some pictures. I might be interested in buying your old junk parts as I am exploring to see if a mustang 190LPH pump will fit in the expediition...
find the sensor, mine is right behind the grill on the front of the truck... Unplug it and see if it changes the readout. It should peg one way or the other.... It should be a 2 wire sensor and maybe look like it is supposed to screw into something.
Matt
on most of the 5.4 trucks it comes with 2.75 inch compression bent (not mandrel) sometimes it also has a resonator in the rear as well. The 2.75 inch is okay unless you add a supercharger. All of the catback kits use 3 inch. The easiest way is just go and measure the outside of the pipe...
have them pull the code at autozone. If it is a particular cylinder's misfire code then I'll bet it is the coil or it could even be an injector.
I haven't heard anything great about the ones on ebay, but you can get 2 or 3 of them for the price of one of the real ford ones..... maybe worth a...
You can get replacements on ebay, but they are not factory ford most of the time. They are a whole lot cheaper than the factory pieces, but you get a bad one from time to time from what I hear.
Matt
Well I know the coil packs don't like to get wet. Also if they are replacing them with the cheap ones (not actual ford parts) then these are really prone to failure (worse than the factory ones).
The factory plugs on the newer trucks are platinum by the way.
Good Luck,
Matt
Not without reprogramming the computer for the better fuel. The timing curves were designed for cheap gas and the better octane wouldn't really be taken advantage of.
Matt
Well I can tell you from experience that you can reliably run 6 pounds of boost without an intercoler, but 9 is pointless without one because it heats up the air too much and the computer retards the timing. I am adding an intercooler to mine as we speak because it runs like a turd on hot days...
that supercharger on ebay won't work because it is reverse rotation...... You might be able to find a complete kit for around 1500 bucks or so used..... procharger, vortech and paxton make kits for your truck I think....
Matt
Don't know if I will keep it that long or not. I'm beating on mine right now pretty hard and I have 42K on the odometer. We will see how long those CV joints last on the rear of mine with the supercharger and all....... Probably can't sell it ever because it is two hacked up compared to...
you would need brackets pulleys and an FMU (for your application). You would also use the stock tune and be able to run 6lbs of boost safely.
I think that one is a reverse rotation which means the pulley would be in the rear when mounted on the truck. All of the truck kits I have seen use...
In my opinion you will not gain anything. The MAF meter is sized big enough for the throttle body. You would be spending better money getting a cold air kit that replaces the factory inlet pipe and such, then look into a programmer like the ones at www.snipertuning.com or the ones from...
The only real way to see the MAF act up is with data logging through the OBDII port. You would have to notice the fuel trims out of wack and investigate and then you would notice that the airflow being measured by the MAF is low for the given RPM per the ford factory specifications.
Short...
For owners of 03 and 04 Expeditions with the 5.4 liter:
Can you guys look under the hood right above the computer (3 connectors going into it on passenger side firewall) and tell me the code that is written on the sticker.
Mine is an 03 CA emissions model and my code is NFA2, Your code...
You are on the right track.... I would suspect a vacuum hose bleeding off vacuum. When you accelerate you lose your vacuum and it is bleeding off and not storing it because you have a leak.
