What happened on my 99 was the pressure would bleed off when the truck was not running. I thought it was the check valve so I bought a fuel pump. When I dropped the tank I found that the rubber hose that connects the pump to the metal live was cracked and the clamps holding it on were loose. So...
Having the front end engaged all the time is really not to big a deal. Lots of the old dodges and k5 blazers had full time front axles.
But if you really want to be able to disengage the front axle you can swap in a f150 unit and instead of going through all the bs with the vacuum system you...
I didn't say it was stupid or that you or anyone else wasted money buying them. Sorry if I offended.
To the op, no there is no real difference between stock keys and aftermarket ones.
How does having more bolt above the nut make aftermarket keys better? If you tighten the torsion bars enough to lift the front of your truck 1" or 2" or even 3" the same amount of tension is on the bars no matter how the keys are indexed.
In other words the more you lift the front of the truck...
A cam kit is required for an alignment But once you put one in your good forever. See the factory dosent give you a way to set caster and camber. That's what the cam kit does.
Anyway just my .02 don't waste your money on torsion keys they do the same thing as the stock ones just a little...
Try pulling fuse 104 under the hood. That fuse gives power to the magnetic clutch for the awd. I know you said you were in the 2wd position but just try the fuse and see what happens.
Never mind I see where you had the front cv shafts changed. Check your tire sizes. The 99 up 1st gens are awd if you tires are bigger in the front than the rear the computer thinks the rear tires are slipping as they are spinning faster. Your awd is probably engaging.
There are 2 ways to fix...
She always drives her truck in the mud. This is what my truck looks like.

Rear driveline could be outta time. Had that problem on my f150 one time changed the u joints and when I put the shaft back in I bolted the flang back to the rear end 90% out. Made the whole truck shake like hell.
Look into the kit that Zone Offroad offers. I just put one on my 97 f150 and it is very well built. The new cross members are all 1/4" welded plate and the price is good. My f150 kit was just a little over 1300 shipped. I think the Expy kit is around 1600.
There are a few wheels in a 15x10 that are made specifically for our body style f150/expys.
I know Eagle Alloy makes one and I think Ion Alloy makes one as well.
These wheels have to stick WAY out to clear the breaks. IMO get 16x10 wheels. There is a better selection of 16's anyway.
