    Put a pressure gauge on it and run it. If the needle bounces then it's a cylinder pumping pressure into the cooling system.

    X2 I've been through this. Other thing I've been caught off guard with is holes that have been repaired with a sleeve that accepts a longer plug with a 9 1/6 socket size. You can tell if this has been done by how long the boot is on the coil usually about 2".

    Very true! I put a automatic locker in the front diff of my jeep when it was a DD. drive in 2wd like it was not there. One day got a big snow storm.. Engaged 4H and it fought with me even on slippery snow packed roads.

    I've been servicing the 5.4L's for years and aways threw in motor craft plats and never had any issues from them. But I'm just curious if there is anything better. I'm replacing my plugs this weekend. Thanks in advance.

    shock question

    Some vehicles yes the stock mounts might not handle them. But on a Expy assuming in good shape, not rusted to crap they are beef enough to handle the coil shocks. I've been thinking about this too since I tow a jeep on a trailer and it sits lower from the weight.
