either way, its going to cost you to fix this. Maybe just switch it out for the 50 series SUV or step up to the 70 series. What you want is a 3 chamber not a 2 chamber.
I dont know of any differences between the 03-06 and 07-10 expedition suspensions. Here is a link with detailed photo's of the installed suspension. But really, $3500 is a ton of cash...

this is my 2004. It has undergone many changes since I purchased last summer. I started with stock OEM 20's, then lifted it, then moved to the 35's.
before the lift
after the lift
now with 35's
First let me say that I have a 3/2 level kit (truxxx) and run 35's and yes I had to do some trimming. You can go over to Show and Tell and see my thread "2wd lift project" for pics and details
Second, your suspension is not the same as the F-150. you have an Independant Rear Suspension and...
there is a kit made by rize that lifts 8" but it costs a fortune. I have speculated about trying to combine some of the leveling kits. Readylift has a spring/strut replacement setup that will give 2.5, daystar makes the spring pocket adapters and truxxx had the metal spacers that mount to the...
Hmm, I'll have to check on that. I know there was a prototype bodylift on an Expy EL I saw. Cant remember the name of the company, but it was in one of the off road magazines.
Lifting it higher really isnt an option. Readylift makes a replacement coil spring/strut combo that adds I think 2 inches. I am not sure if they could be used in conjunction with the truxxx spacers. Possible driveshaft issues. A bodylift would probably be best although there isnt a kit...
After reading and researching and coming up empty time and time again, I decided to post my 2004 Expy project. I was never able to find pics or answers to many of my questions. Here is my experience:
I wanted to do something different and I think I did.
Truck: 2004 Ford Expedition Eddie...
I have a 3/2 level kit on my 04 Expy with the OE wheels and had backspacing issues. You will need 1 1/2 spacers or rims with 4.5" backspacing. Stock wheels have 6" backspacing and rub at full lock. I am now running 17x9 on 315/70/17 and love it! I did have to trim the front bumper cover and...
Well after a long conversation with 4Wheel Parts, I ordered a set of 17x9 with 4.5" backspacing from centerline. They had forged wheels in overstock @ $109 ea.
pics will be posted when its all done.
now, about that body lift...
Curious...did you ever install the body lift?
Also, whats your backspacing/offset on those wheels?
I just picked up a set of 315/70/17 BFG All terrains and need to get wheels to make them fit. It seems most of the lifted trucks run 4.5 backspacing as stock is about 6 I think.
I have...
yeah, got them on craigslist for $250 with the tires. The seller had them on his F-150 and decided to go back to an 18" wheel. The tires are pretty worn but still have life left in them.:D
Well I havent noticed any vibration in the cab whatsoever. The ride is as smooth as before the install. IMO, the daystars look more difficult to install. I was running 32.99 tires w/o the lift, so adding 3 inches should clear 35's. The only issue will be the wheel you choose. Backspacing...
I picked up the lift on ebay for $85 new. It came from an aftermarket parts dept. of a Ford Dealership. I love getting deals like that!:D
My tires are pretty well worn, so thats the next step. I would like to go with a 35 12.5 20, but I dont think the OE wheels have enough backspacing. My...
Well, I got the rear lift and alignment done tonight finally. I took it to 4wheel parts for the work. The ride is good and high. It makes the 33's I have look small. I think 35's are going to be next...
I need to post before and after pics soon.
I picked up a Truxxx 3/2 spacer lift pretty cheap recently and started the install today. The instructions are not very good as there are plently of knuckle busting adventures that just cant be put on paper. I started with the front drivers side. It took about 3 hours mostly trying to get all...
