The battery has a crack around the post...it is not sealed. Thus the corrosion. All the vehicles in my list below with the exception of the '84 Jeep has the original OEM clamp/cables from the factory.
Fluid Film annually. Very effective in rust prevention. Many DOT and municipalities use it on their vehicles. Dealerships offer the service as well as independent shops. We have the capabilities to self spray it and buy in 5 gallon pails.
Front window tint is asking for a Po Po stop. In our state anyway, front tint is illegal. License plate lights...why would you want them lit up like a billboard? Just my $.02
My '04 has the 2V 5.4 with 175,000 miles on it and still running the factory recommended 5-20 oil. Changed religiously at 3K with Motorcraft filter. The 5.4 engines only like the recommended oil viscosity anything heavier and you are asking for valve train issues, this is especially true with...
In my '16 Expy I have only run top tier fuel 91-93 and the truck drives like a sports car, very fun to drive and blows other vehicles away. As for the so called oil problem on the intake valves I heard this was only a problem with early engines and Ford made some changes. However every 20K miles...
My '16 & '04 dry as a bone. The '06 always leaked a little on the driver's A post. None of the vehicles have a sun roof. I learned back in the early '80s that sun/moon roofs and T tops are nothing but trouble and are to be avoided.
If it was me, I would swap out the engine with a Ford remanufactured engine. I did that a few years ago on my '95 F350 and the buyer of my '06 Expy did the same.
My '06 had a plug break at the hex on the plug...not supposed to break there. Shop wanted to pull the head, I told them to use a straight non-tapered EZ Out. A tapered one would expand the plug threads making it impossible to come out. They used a straight one (that I provided) and an impact and...
My '04 works the same way, push the start button on the key fob and it stays running with the key removed. I wish the '16 did as well. Unfortunately I have to shut it off and remote start when I get out to run in someplace.
My '16 Expy I only run Top Tier fuel such as Shell Premium or Mobil since the day I drove it off the lot. I like the all around engine performance that makes up for the missing 2 cylinders. Makes the truck fun to drive.
Hahahaha that is the funniest thing I heard today.
Update...yes it is true on the new Mustangs, still not sure on the Expy. I know my '16 XLT does not have it.
