    Whirring noise

No reported failures is a clue to the design engineers that the component is over-designed, and so they change the design to save money.

Andersen W/D hitch - anyone use?

I-95 SB in GA. In a 31' Class C, and the concrete slab joints were spaced just right for the speed I was moving, and in only about 30 seconds it was jumping so much that stuff was coming off the counters, you could hear the silverware jingling, and the spouse was not happy (trying to sleep on...

    2017 Passenger side headlight housing

If you have a soldering iron, say 75w-100w range, you can melt that bracket back together. Push the pieces together as much as you can, then "draw" the soldering iron along the seam, melting the plastic together. Do it on both sides of the break if you can. It won't be good as new, but it'll...

Heater hose fail, now misfiring like crazy

I watched a video of guy who did that on a VW Beetle and burned his house down. Seems he didn't realize that without the spark plug igniting the fuel-air mixture inside the cylinder, the fuel-air vapor was ejected with high velocity out through the plug hole.....the vapor cloud didn't take long...

Drifts forward in reverse up hill

I remember taking the time to learn how to drive on hills. I don't recall complaining about my car rolling down hill. Although, we did bully those that used the parking brake cuz they just couldn't figure out the fast foot work required. But, then again, I remember learning to make calls on a...

Is there a solution for the peeling paint?

Most often, they warranty the part but not the labor. Paint - $2.50 Labor - $500

Heater hose fail, now misfiring like crazy

Something got wet and its drying out. Coolant doesn't evap very fast, so a single drop into the wrong electrical connector can cause havoc.

What diagnostic options are available in the dealers shop?

You can do that in your driveway. As long as the engine is running, the turbines are spinning. Increasing engine rpm increases turbo rpm. Now, where the pressurized air goes is up to the ECM, either back into the intake manifold, out a waste gate, or bypassed into the exhaust pipe. Not knowing...

    Hmmm.....14HP boost.

I think its a modern version of the coil boosters you could buy back in the 1970s that also claimed to 'increase your HP'. They didn't.

    Hmmm.....14HP boost.

So, they claim a 14HP boost just from installing their coils (peak HP +38 @4000rpm). Edit: New link https://www.enginelabs.com/engine-tech/dyno-testing/installing-sos-coils-yields-easy-gains-on-an-ecoboost-f-150/

    Transmission Shifting

Since you bought it used, I would do a complete ECM/PCM reset to clear all the learned values. Follow this guide:

    Transmission Shifting

I have never heard of a climate-based ECM programming. Ever. Once a vehicle warms up, the only temp-related variable it cares about is air temp for the fuel-air mix. Imagine all the snowbirds arriving in FL and finding out they need to re-flash their ECMs, and then do it again when they get...

    No breaks for you jeffrey......

Interesting. As I read this thread, the sidebar ads start rotating between sump pumps, well pumps, and furnaces.
