So far they trans and t case are mounted and i had to re-mount and re-drill the trans crossmember a few inches forward so if thats a deal breaker on the swap for you guys, then i wouldnt advise this. I will put the photos up of what i have so far. the truck is still yet to be started and i have...
I was able to pop the glass by just pulling a latch inside the rear panel area so maybe ill be able to put some paracord with a loop on and use it as a pull handle
Glad too see this idea took off ill look in to tomorrow some more while I'm taking the trans out. The tank in the first gen is on the driver frame rail in the back so I feel like its totally possible to run a fitting to the bumper with a hose inlet just wonder if the compressed is capable I...
I have a K&N 77 series polished I love it you step on it and you can hear it suck in air and the pedal is way better and more throttle response too but I do agree they are expensive but the polished just looks well, built better than plastic but that's just me.
Transmissions is here Transfer case is here too hope to start work on pulling the old trans on Friday. The transfer case came without output flanges for the drive shafts and was also missing all the parts to shift the T case so got to run to the junk yard after I install all this and I got a...
For those of us with air ride and did a coil spring swap, did anyone else take the tanks and lines out? I didn’t and wondered how much work it would be to just re-wire the compressor and put a fitting on the lines off the tank to use a hose off a bumper or something? Thanks guys for the help I...
So the plan after the trans is a sas swap on leaf springs im going to try and use 46" used army tires and i think i can get away with 10-11" of lift.. what do you guys think, do i need more lift than that? i plan on regearing the axles when i buy them and adding lockers too. i think these are...
I got cooper discovery stt's they rock off road and on road but after a year of road use mine are pretty gone about 35% tread life and i never even got to drift of burn out with em but spinnin in the mud stuck kills tread life
there is a little shock looking thing with wires that mounts on the frame and on the axle just unhook the side on the axle and compress it withb your hands till you get a height you like then just unplug it it thinks it has load from a trailer or something and will lift the rear end up... i did...
that's what you were after its a little pricy but its plug and play swap

Found out the transmission from smartparts doesn't need the shift tower it came with one so I guess some companies have them already installed. The shift lever the year is irrelevant and same with the shift selector they are all the same.
EDIT
The ZF6 is taller and would need a body lift to work..The first gear on the ZF5 is like 5.08 so its pretty deep as well. The transfercase you could use your BW4406 if its a 31 spline but im not sure.. The NV271 has deeper ratios and can take more torque than the 4406 and the 271 is a for sure...
i just got a new radio and metra harness then wired it up and pluged it in the kit they make inclueds a sub harness too I have a 99 that had the same head unit... I love my new pioneer it was only like 100 too if your intrested ill include links... you just gotta wire the yellow amp on wire (i...
