Ours did that when the seal went out and it lost all the fluid. I know it's probably not something as simple as low fluid, but who knows. Needless to say, I don't have a whole lot of confidence left in these transmissions.
Got this info from the Audi forum I follow. If you're interested in wireless android auto, check this out. I just ordered one for my Audi earlier today, they had been full and not taking orders but just made more available today for shipping in June.
I haven't done much research myself except...
I just asked if they had any discounts available and mentioned I would be paying in full. I think the promo code may have been PAYINFULL.

So far, luckily all of our issues have been covered under warranty: Grinding/binding of rear differential when backing and/or turning sharply; mirrors popping; hard downshift 5-4 gear-replaced transmission valve body; transmission seal went out, almost stranded us in the mountains.
I think...
We had something similar to this a while back. Dealer added some fluid supplement or something (supposedly) and it finally went away.

No, replacing that valve control body fixed the problem. Shifting was a little different for a while because I think it was re-learning after the update. Everything was good until that stupid seal went out.
Ours was downshifting hard mainly when warmed up, but it was only from 5-4th gear. It was harsh enough it would shake the whole truck. It did eventually start to get a little better in the month it took for me to get it into the dealer, but was still noticeable. Like I said, I thought it would...
Yep, had the exact same thing. Kind of came and went but never really went away. Had the valve control body (or something like that) replaced. Fixed the problem.
Fast forward two months and now in the shop indefinitely waiting for some transmission seal that’s on back order that failed and...
So we are not having good luck lately with our transmission. Had the main control valve replaced a few months ago due to hard downshifting out of 5th gear. They also flashed the new software.
This weekend we were nearly stranded on I70 in the mountains with the 3 kids because a seal went out...
Yeah, for a little over $2k for up to 125k miles is probably worth it I guess. I still have a few months to decide, but will be leaning toward getting it.
I'm in the same boat, I don't think I've bought an extended warranty in my life, but I'm going to have to make a decision in a few months. We've already had the tranny worked on, but powertrain and tranny are covered til 5/60k miles anyways. We're usually drive it til it dies, so may end up...
Our tranny was downshifting out of 5th gear super rough. I figured it was just a software fix, but the dealer also replaced the valve body. Took a couple days at the dealer, seems to be fixed for now. Around 26k miles.

Mine's 4wd, I thought I read somewhere on here something about a hub not disengaging or something like that and to do with vacuum lines. I'll have to go digging again when I have time.
We just starting getting something similar to that, but maybe more of a grinding noise. Seems to be mostly when turning left, but on the way to the dealer next week. I thought I was dragging the kids bike underneath the first time it happened....
I would say it depends on where you live. I live in Colorado and we've already had several large snow storms this year so we're going with the Blizzaks. We had a minivan before the Expedition and ran the Blizzaks on it, also. They seem to me to be a little more aggressive, but that's what we...
I just ordered a set of Blizzaks from Costco, just going to have them swapped out with the stock rims twice/year for now. We've been getting lots of snow already here in Colorado and the Toyo's don't do the best on the ice.
BTW Costco has all Bridgestone's on sale starting today.
