I've always ordered mine online and had them shipped to my installer. Hell, I've pretty much done that with all the tires I have bought in the last 20 years or so..
Ever consider Nokian WR G3 SUV tires? They are a phenomenal all season tire, with Winter (snowflake rated) Traction ratings. Not terribly aggressive if you go off road, but a very good dry/wet/winter weather tire. Drawback is that they are pricey, but they will be better than most tires...
Not sure what year your truck is. But it doesn't seem to be too much of a pain to do, but its a royal pain on the Wallet..

Yup. There are solutions to everything, but just like the original design, they have compromises. The rear axle has an upper and lower trailing link, and as they swing down (suspension droops), the axle assembly moves forward, and as the swing up (suspension compression) the Axle moves...
I wouldn't be surprised is most of the '17s that were leased or purchased ad fleet/rentals have probably been on the road a full two years at this point, maybe three..
Many of the Base XLTs I see are listed between $25-29K with miles varying from 39ish to 50ish thousand miles..
Supertones are a bit high pitched for a truck, at least in my opinion. Fiamm Makes some horns with deeper tones.. Something like this..
Here is a review of horns, motorcycle biased, but lists a number of choices..
That is pretty much confirms what I had speculated in the beginning of this thread. Seems like a calculated risk to choose not to paint or otherwise coat these items, with the assumption that corrosion will not cause any issues during the vehicle’s projected lifetime, or at least the length of...
Thanks everyone for your comments and feedback. If we decide to go this route, I can only hope the following is true, cause if it is, I may never have to buy another vehicle (our X5 was pretty darn reliable though 200K+ miles), unless I tire of it..
LOL! Lightweight is never a word I would have associated with the X5. It is a uni-body design, not body on frame, so in that sense, not a truck no. I'm not sure I would argue its not an SUV, unless you are going to argue anything less than a full size SUV can't be called an SUV. It is a...
Looks Great! Curious how long you have had the Kit, and your impressions of how it rides/drives. any issues aligning the truck? Some photos I saw made it look like the ball joints were pretty close to their limits, and concern seen when you did the lift? Thanks..
Not trying to upset anyone here, and appreciate everyone's feedback. I'm just trying to do my due diligence. I guess everyone’s mileage and experience varies between brands. Our X5 is 12 yo, has 217,000 essentially trouble free miles, on original engine and transmission. It has never left us...
Maybe I'm missing something that you can fill me in on..
I’m trying to think about what you are eluding to, but without success..
Some metals can be used as sacrificial metals to protect others, but they deteriorate quickly by design to protect other metals from doing so..
But this doesn’t...
So I am not an Expedition owner. Honestly, I’ve never actually owned a domestic car. Mostly European and Asian brands in my lifetime. My wife’s current ride (a BMW X5) is in the body shop after being rear ended, and we have a 2017 Expedition as a loaner right now. My wife is enjoying the size...
Wow, seems like it was quite the undertaking to get a heated wheel in the Expedition (I still have NO CLUE how Ford could believe it to be a viable option in the Explorer, but not in the Expedition). Bravo for all your efforts, and for sharing..
I'm very impressed with the depth of skill and...
I assume this is what you were referring to. It does look like a very nice plug and play option, but you are right, rather pricey..

??
Wow, why doesn't Ford paint or coat any of the in-dash/Under dash brackets with anything. So much rust/corrosion, and you are in So California?!? Wonder what it would look like in a state that has constant high humidity and Winter Weather..
Thanks for the feedback (more is welcomed as well if anyone else has additional input). Guess I will be looking for a '17 XLT with the 202a option package and heated rear seats (Teenage Daughter's request)..
I guess I am old, not really a fan of these Safety Nannies..
This seems like a lot of effort to go through, for a problem that is already addressed with the Old School Mirrors included with most cars. Correctly Adjusted, they work pretty well for me...
So my wife’s truck was rear ended, and it is in the shop being repaired..
We have a ’17 Base XLT Expedition as a rental..
And she is digging the Interior Volume and size of the truck..
So now considering purchasing a 2015-2017 Expedition..
Been reading around the forums a bit..
Few Questions...
