It may be just the local dealer but there is nothing like getting a 10% off service coupon via email that allows you to setup an appointment for service with the coupon attached. It's a great idea.
Well I show up to my appointment yesterday for the works (oil/filter/tire rotation, fluids..)...
My fleet or rental 2017 is completely stock and near 60,000 miles on it. I don't have the HD towing but tow with it just fine. No motor or transmission issues. That's likely because I bought a factory extended warranty. LOL I've owned it about a year and half and put 31,000 miles on it...
Turbos are here to stay. At least until full electric replaces everything.
I just finished watching Fastest Car season 2 on Netflix. It is a fun show if you like seeing self/garage built sleeper vehicles race a supercar in a 1/4 mile. There are 6 races with 4 participants, 3 sleepers vs 1...
Be careful with the Land Rovers. I would lease them not buy them. They aren't known for high quality and are now owned by TaTa. A friend has one has a discovery sport and is having all kinds of electronics issues with it. The 1st service was $800 plus they needed to change out the back...
I use one of these in my 17 with 2 greyhounds. With all the seats folded down they could walk right between the front seats onto the center console. This does nicely.
I paid full price when I bought mine with the floor liners...
The water spots are from it sitting in the rain and the drive in to work. They just wash off. It is paint flaking off. Hopefully just on the trim piece, hopefully not the metal. I'm just disappointed as this will only get worse and require repair. This is the 1st vehicle I have owned that...
So it begins. Sorry if the pics don't come out well. It rained last night & I keep my Expy washed so it is really reflective and I'm standing on a tree protection barrier with gravel on it. nyway I knew it was coming but still am disappointed with paint peeling of a 2 year old $55k plus MSRP...
2017 Expy EL 4x4 with 3.73 gear ratio. Seeing 19.5mpg over the last 5,000 miles via trip computer on 80%hwy driving at 75 or below mostly 93 but using 87 since the weather cooled off with no drop in mpg.
Towing a very wind resistant dual axle utility trailer I get 9 to 11 mpg at 65mph.
Is it normal for Ford's restructuring? Does this mean poorer service, trying to get you to pay for unneeded services and denied warranty claims at the dealership? Lower quality due to cost cutting measures?
...OR...a good time to purchase Ford stock because they will rebound...
To me it shows which vehicles that are daily drivers can go the distance. Look at how many Toyotas are in there. I was surprised to see the Fusion make the list and the F-150 and Silverado so far down it. Other than the Vette which isn't daily driven, no GM cars.
The good thing is that...
Some research I did when looking into the 3.5 Ecoboost. Basically it is a motor designed to be a turbo vs the old days of slapping a turbo on a motor not designed for the application. It appears to be a good systems and from the following you will see some have driven it for over 200 & 300...
For me that would be the case with the Toyota Land Cruiser. Then again a high end Expedition is right there in price.
I pay attention to these articles for future used vehicle purchases.
I found this article quite interesting. It is a report of the top 10 vehicles owners keep the longest. Of course the Expedition in in it. What do you think? I'm not surprised at the others as I've owned 3 of them and they really are trouble free over the long haul.
5. Ford Expedition...
With the price of these new, You would think Ford would want Toyota level quality or is beating GM good enough.
There is another thread on leaking and failing strut & shock absorbers failing. Do ask if they replace it with another brand/model or will it fail again after warranty.
You have a 4 year old vehicle with rust showing? You didn't drive it that deep in the atlantic or other salt water source? Any 4 year old vehicle should not be rusty even driving the salt roads of NY during the winter. White does show rust if you have it. Mine is black and would be more...
Toby, you should look at 4runners. They haven't done a redesign in 10 years. One of the reviewer complaints. Yet 18 was a record sales year for them. Why? Folks want the simple durability & reliability from their basic proven design.
If you go with a high end luxury vehicle experts say to...
That's great. The tail of the dragon is a big time biker destination. How many sport bikes were behind you cursing?
When towing through the mountains in VA & PA last year, I was surprised at the lack of downshifting the Expy does compared to the 07 Sequoia I had in with the same trailer and...
This is one of the reasons why Expedition value plummets on the used market. I passed on at least 10 used Expeditions/Navigators because of the paint issues.
I was the 3rd owner of a 2001 Toyota Tacoma in 08. Soon after I received a letter from Toyota extending the frame warranty for 15 years...
If they make the Excursion again...maybe put that in there as an option. Otherwise Ford is doing well with the Turbo motors.
Did you see what they are going to get HP/TQ wise in the 2020 Aviator?
"the Aviator's hybrid model — manages a whopping 494 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque"
Just...
I purchased a 17 XLT EL 4x4 that was listed as "lease or rental" in the car fax just as the newly designed 18s were hitting the lots. It was about a year old and had 29,000 on it, original MSRP was over $50k and I got it for $34k. A good friend of mine was having 4x4 issues with his 16 F150...
