That's a great way to go but don't worry about what the competition is coming out with. It'll drive you nuts as there always improvements coming out. If you have to buy now and want a chance on the others updated models, just lease. If you don't drive over the allotted amount of miles per...
Just picked up 19 Platinum Max 4x4 as a rental flipped over to trip computer and found it's getting according to the computer 19.7 mpg over the last 4K plus miles. That's incredible for this vehicle as a rental. I bet no one is using 93. I'm putting 87 in it and was not instructed to do...
They 1st tried to put me into a Nissan Path Finder. I can't believe how much they have neutered that vehicle. It used to be a great mid sized SUV now it's a car and not a very good one. I guess they expect the path you are searching for to be paved and maintained.
I had to push to get the Expy.
...a 2019 Ford Expedition Max Limited as a rental. I got "rear ended" a couple of weeks ago and it took this long for the other driver's insurance to set up repairs and a rental. Basically it was on the interstate going through a construction zone with stop & go traffic. Traffic stopped, I...
If you get a used one with less than 3 years and 36,000 miles you can purchase the Ford factory extended warranty.
Expeditions drop in value like crazy on the used market (maybe the new gen will hold value better?). I bought one from a mom & pop used dealer that was listed by car fax as...
Ford would. I'm at 53,000 miles so the bumper to bumper warranty is done. I do have the Ford protect extended warranty which is subject to $100 deductible. The repair is less than that. I let the mom & pop repair shop I use for inspections do it.
Missing.
Now if something hit it, shearing it off and taking the top part with it, how did it miss everything else next to it?
Aliens? Metal eating virus that died halfway down? Ran over a disintegration ray gun that only had one shot left? Gremlin?
Was this tied to the mysterious button in...
It's a fixed price from Flood which was way less than others quoted me. They don't even ask about trim level. I purchased from here on my 2017 after shopping around. Since it's a Ford Factory warranty, it is good at any Ford dealership. This one figured out they can make a little profit by...
I couldn't agree with this more. Then again I'm 51 and don't care about the "cool" factor. If I didn't have to tow 6,000lb trailer a few times a year, I would be driving a Toyota Sienna AWD and put the $25K saved toward the kids college fund. If your wife is like all of my friends, the minivan...
I'm always amazed at how a 12 year vehicle in a non rust belt state can still look great. Here I wouldn't even consider looking at one because of rust issues.
Congratulations on finding one is such great shape.
As much as I hate state inspections of vehicles especially a newer one, this one was actually beneficial. I also wanted to alert you to check yours.
My rear passenger side stabilizer bar failed. I have no idea how or why. I haven't even noticed any handling differences. Easy fix but the...
Heck I didn't even notice this. It still leaves a large opening. I don't lower it below half for the greyhounds. I do miss the rear hatch window going down like my Sequoia & 4runner had.
Pg 307 of the 2017 owner's manual:
Recommended motor oil (U.S.): Motorcraft® SAE 5W-30 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil XO-5W30-QSP
Optional motor oil (U.S. and Mexico): Motorcraft® SAE 5W-30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil XO-5W30-QFS
Ford Service "the works" uses synthetic blend. I paid around...
You are correct. It depends on your needs. My 3rd row seats have been folded down for the entire time I've owned mine. It's a big truck with a permanent cap. My dogs love it.
I guess I don't equate sound to performance. While the sound of a carbureted Harley or a V-8 car does sound good. It's low on my priority list to power, efficiency and reliability.
You can't believe how many Harley Davidson buyers immediately throw away brand new exhaust systems to make...
When I got over 40K miles on these tires, I figured I'd have to start looking for a new set. I didn't even measure as I was convinced OEM tires don't last this long. I was ready with pricing for the service adviser to come in and tell me I'd have to replace them. That way he could price match...
I've taken plenty of company owned vehicles to fast lube places with zero issues. I've done my own oil changes and paid others to do them.
Ford is making it easy for me with the works great price. For a few bucks more than doing my own oil change, I don't have to rotate tires. Plus like...
That's great. For others, there are many Wrangler tires, the Fortitude HT are the ones that are lasting for a long time. Even though the fine print says 65,000 is not for LT sizes, the reviews and my experience with them is they do last for many miles.
I'll be on the look out for a deal...
I would suggest starting a case with Ford. Check your owner's manual for the telephone number in case this continues to reoccur. This will put some pressure on getting it fixed right the 2nd time instead of 10th.
Also if they can't fix it, they can buy it back or you can lemon law it. But...
With my extended warranty from Ford (yes I know you can save receipts), living in apartment complex, general laziness and $43 the works at the dealership with Ford's synthetic blend oil change and tire rotation. I take it to the dealer. Heck they fixed a rattling heat shield for free last time.
Honestly I never paid attention to the gear ratio when I purchased the Expy. I just lucked into the ratio I would have chosen (3.73). It will be a consideration for truck/Suv purchases in the future.
