Good point. I didn’t think about it only partially opening and hindering flow. I’ll have to look into what it would take to replace that thermostat. Might be worth it on the next fluid change.
I don’t see this being the reason. The thermostat could be working properly but the fluid could be retaining heat differently, or the system could no longer be dissipating heat the same, or the trans could be building heat more than it used to.
In all of those, the fluid temp could rise with...
Hey all, I’m hoping for some education or insight on transmission temperatures and cooling. I have a 2017 EL with the towing package that is used a lot, mostly mountain driving but then towing a few times a year. Over the last five years I have seen a change in the average temperature readings...
Exactly, and thank you!
The temperature fluctuations seem to have stopped, all appears to be normal there. I believe you were correct on air in the system.
And the fluid leaks looked to be tied to their work, which I had them correct after much debate. Coolant was a line they replaced which...
Well I had a pretty poor shop experience and I'm now questioning the quality of work. Hopefully someone can clarify if a few things we're seeing are or are not common for the work done. In short, I had a shop replace both exhaust manifolds along with all of the suggested items: coolant lines...
I know this is an old thread, but I too want to replace this however I do not see a link to the video. Am I missing something? Anyone happen to have the link to the video mentioned?
Yes, really. "I did a thing" does not describe: that the fitting wasn't there already for some who can't look at their own right away; if it was best to remove the motor or not; if so, the process to remove; how deep to drill, maybe there is a motor directly inside the housing; what grease was...
I did a similar process: actually broke the plastic arm of the old wiper so it was out of the way, and then grabbed the base of the old arm with pliers and pulled it straight out.
I agree with this. Having a '17 with CCD, I'm pretty sure the entire system is just electric controlled shocks; sensors w/links to the shocks, then a controller tied into systems. If I get to the point of needing replacements, I would think I can find the shocks and swap them like any other...
I agree with most points above, I would go with both the motor and tranny. I've only down this level of work on Jeeps, so can't tell you if swapping them together is a done more work, but I would think since they have already been married it will help ensure they both up smoothly.
Besides, if...
