I had my wheels balanced on my 2010 by a local tire shop and he had a hard time removing the driver's side wheels. He also had to use a breaker bar to remove wheel nuts he thought were over torqued. After removal, we saw on the wheel studs where the wheel nuts were getting so hot they were...
Damn that sucks! That truck is angry at you lol. It just never ends sometimes. At least you know what you're dealing with now. Why not just let the window down and open the door instead of crawling over the passenger side? Just a thought. Easier exit and less risk breaking something else.
What's up DFDUBB! I'm also from Ft. Worth and been looking at these for my wife's 03. Her Expedition is 4wd but I've read I shouldn't have any problems.
I was only worried if they weren't low enough where I should begin begin cutting. 1/2 coil or 1 full coil and see where I'm at? I think...
I sure hope it is. It's way less complicated and cheaper than finding someone to repair it here in Alaska. The shipping wasn't horrible either. I'll try to get it within a month and get it painted.
I also have the paint bubbling on my hood and have been searching for a fiberglass or steel replacement. Well I searched a little harder and found this...
They also claim to have aluminum replacements but I will be after the steel ASAP!
Oh wow and I see you have a 2016. I wonder if its a reason they're getting away from the steering wheel lock. It sucks while removing lug nuts and the tire turns. Easy way to scratch your vehicle with the cheater bar or torque wrench.
I've used 5W30 in my wife's 03(145K miles) and assume 5w20 or 5w30 was used in my 2010(75K miles) when I bought it. The oil level was a little low when I bought it. The pressure seemed to be fine and both engines run smooth and quite. But my wife's Expedition would use oil quite often. I use...
I was checking my front wheels of my 2010 Expedition today because of the slight wobble in the steering wheel at highway speeds and noticed the steering wheel doesn't lock. Everything was tight side to side and top to bottom so I'm leaning more towards wheel balance now. I noticed I could turn...
Yeah the winter time will drive you crazy but the summer will make up for it. I'm just tired of the snow. It's more than likely going to snow into April. You just need some dark curtains for summer time and you'll sleep just fine. From 2am to 4:30am it is still a lil bit of light from the sun...
Here in Anchorage we don't get that much darkness. At the most during the peak of darkness in the winter 17 to 18 hours but it's still a buzz kill. Very north Alaska, like Barrow, get the full days of darkness though. Then it's reversed in the summer where we will get 19 to 20 hours of sun and...
Looks like I will be trying from the bottom first then. I have pretty long arms so it shouldn't be too bad. Thanks for the input guys. Hopefully I can try it tomorrow if I don't work too late. We are starting to get more sun here now. Can't wait til the 19 to 20 hour sunny, summer days!
Yeah it's on the passenger side. I thought about removing the headlight but it didn't seem to get me low enough to access the horn. I will try it though. Thanks!
I'm changing the horn assembly on my wife's 03 Expedition because it has sounded muffled for the past 6 months or so. It would only do it from time to time before this and return to its normal tone. Now it just gets weaker and weaker. I just got the brand new Ford replacement and was wondering...
I definitely need to get a compressor for insurance to be sure I never get something in the cylinders but I never had issues with my TBird, Navigator or my Wife's Expedition as the boots would fit so tight. But the boots on my spark plug wires in my car definitely fit tighter than COPs do. But...
Yeah it's definitely cold at times but not consistently. It took some getting used to being from Ft. Worth Tx. I definitely let all my vehicles warm up before driving them. I don't care if its just down the street to the grocery store. We bought the truck and had an intermittent misfire on...
Looking back through this thread, there still isn't a clear answer if the ignition coil harness was checked/replaced. They are cheap and fairly easy to replace. I would replace the whole bank if I were you. If you're willing to try I will even send you 4 of the ones I bought brand new, while...
I would at least pull #6 and 7 plugs and look at them to make sure the dealership changed those plugs or there are no problem with them before spending any money. I waisted money on a diagnostics test at Ford with my wife's 03 as I knew it was #4 misfiring. I couldn't get the plug out thinking...
My wife drove around with misfires on her 03 for a couple of months. It trashed the catalytic converters from dumping too much unburned fuel into them. It ended up being a $1000 exhaust upgrade on top of other expenses fixing the misfires.
I ran Amsoil Full Synthetic 5W 30 through my 04 Navigator (5.4 4V) and it was not happy on start ups. The valve train would tap for about 2 to 3 seconds before pumping the oil up. This would happen if the engine was off for more than 20 to 30 minutes. As expensive as that oil was I didn't...
My wife's 03 5.4 had the same issue where one of the pins became loose inside the ignition coil harness. I replaced it with one from O'Reillys. It was a bitch to do considering it wss cylinder 4 but it definitely cured that hiccup.
Yeah that was definitely a quicker response than what I experienced. I would think from a dig I would have similar results though. I was doing around 60mph then floored it to change lanes and it felt like the truck died until it accelerated really hard afterwards.
Right now we have snow and ice on the streets again but when it clears up I will get you guys a video for better insight. It was definitely at least 2 seconds the first time I floored it. But if it's adaptive it makes sense because I have to baby it with the road conditions.
