I checked the fluid level this morning with a cold transmission/engine (going by FordTechMakuloco’s instructions for checking a cold transmission level) and the transmission fluid is still up to the end of the dipstick. Should I remove any fluid?
UPDATE:
Purchased a new dipstick and plug from local Ford dealer. After having the engine off for a few minutes, I started to remove the old plug and broken dipstick. As I was loosening the bolt, transmission fluid begun to seep out and I tightened it back up and waited for the fluid to cool...
I do plan on dropping the pan next weekend and replacing oil, filter, and cleaning the magnet. Is there anything else that I should replace while I have the pan dropped?
2007 2WD 336K miles with original engine and transmission.
Recently the transmission will jerk around 15-5 MPH when coming to a stop. Today, it’s gotten more severe. Any help/recommendations is appreciated.
I replaced the factory intake system with a K&N cold air intake a few years ago. The reusable filter was dirty, but I did clean it with K&N recommended products a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, that didn’t solve anything.
Also, is it possible that a bad exhaust leak (from a bad connection...
How was the install process? Was it simple plug and play or did you have to modify and plastic to make the new socket fit? Also, do you have a picture?
Took the 2007 Expo to the dealer today for a tire rotation. I occasionally have the blinking TPMS light come on about servicing it, nothing to do with a tire being low. Service department said that a TPMS warning light can be triggered by a USB car charger (I’m assuming the amount of current the...
ALSO, does the fan shroud need to be affixed in the down position? There are holes when it is in the down position that looks like clips fasten it down.
My airbag warning light has be on for a while now, so I decided to look underneath the front end of the vehicle and noticed there is a connector not connected to anything, photo attached with connector in red. Could this possibly be for the front impact sensor for airbags? If so, where would...
UPDATE #3:
Replaced all fuel injectors and fuel filter. Engine performance has improved in terms of peppiness and response. Rough idle has improved as well. Overall the engine is running better.
Unfortunately the shuddering and transmission shifting remains the same - can’t complain with it...
UPDATE #2:
Connected a scanner tool and nothing showed up. The Innova scanner detected nothing: no current or stored codes, and nothing with the Ford specified scan.
Cleaned the MAF sensor (dirty) and throttle body (heavy carbon build-up) - did not fix issue.
Going back to when the spark...
Does anyone know where the PCV valve is on a 2007 Expedition 5.4L Triton? And what is the part# to replace it? Can't seem to locate it. Burning oil and hopefully this is a cheap fix!
2007 Expedition EL with automatic transmission. My accelerator/gas pedal is pretty loose. I looked to see if there are bolts that need tightening, but I can’t seem to figure it out. My pedal is the motorized/adjustable.
Update:
Had the spark plugs and coil packs replaced - no improvement. Idle is often rough too. Any suggestions as to what would cause this? I’m thinking of cleaning the MAF sensor and throttle body.
