It was years ago but I replaced a boot once using one that glued together. Cut off the old one, wrap the new one in place and carefully glue it together. Held for as long as I had that car..... 20 years ago or so that was. Worked for me.
A quick search found this...
+1 on grade 8. You must have some old bolts kicking around. Try what you have till you get a snug fit and just take that with you when you get the new ones. Sloppy is not acceptable. Get nuts and lock washers too and measure what you need for length. 1 1/2" - 2" should do it.
So, After hours of online research and calling dealers, I am going to purchase a cluster from a wreck and try it. I called 10 or so different dealers and most of them immediately said I had to bring it in and have it flashed. A couple of them said no, you can drive down the road with no...
With a fuel injected engine you do not need to pump the pedal to start it. Try starting without touching the gas pedal.
If it does need pedal input to stay running clean MAF and throttle body.
I didn't read in your post that you checked the coolant level. Make sure the system is full.
Also, since you are this far, take the blend door right out and look carefully at the bottom where it mounts the actuator. Mine was cracked but still worked and failure was not far away.

These fords need something like that since the drain plug is in a horrible place. My Explorer was the same way. Thanks.... will find something that will work.
A very common issue with our clusters is cold solder joints. Here is a link on how to remove it and the last photo shows what needs to be checked and/or re-soldered to fix it. May or may not be your issue but at least it's a place to start.

Thanks, I like them. My drivers seat doesn't show a lot of wear for 130,000 miles but the left side has weak springs or something due to entry and exit I think. Its not that bad but I get the sense of leaning slightly left while driving and find myself scooching (technical term) to the right a...
Running board lights-
when you open a door
when you unlock with remote
turning on dome with switch inside does not turn them on
There is a quarter turn bulb fixture in each light with a push in bulb (410). Most likely either the bulbs are blown or the fixtures are crapped up. Napa has a...
When I did the all the lines in my explorer I was told to cycle lock to lock 40 times before starting the motor. This bleeds air out of the system. I replaced the lines on the rack as well so it was pretty empty. As I understand it the Ford pumps do not deal with air and it can ruin them. That's...
To me your clip sounds like a medium pitch hummmmmm right from the beginning and then you rev the engine. Is that about right?
If so that could be an idler bearing, alternator, AC or some other small bearing. Could be lots of things actually. Try a stethoscope and see if you can find the source.

Look for the vehicle certification label on the driver's door. This label will say "MFG. by Ford Motor Company" at the top, and will list front and rear GAWR, tire pressures and will show a bar code.
Below the bar code find a grouping of terms including AXLE. Directly below this word...
