    +1 on grade 8. You must have some old bolts kicking around. Try what you have till you get a snug fit and just take that with you when you get the new ones. Sloppy is not acceptable. Get nuts and lock washers too and measure what you need for length. 1 1/2" - 2" should do it.

    With a fuel injected engine you do not need to pump the pedal to start it. Try starting without touching the gas pedal. If it does need pedal input to stay running clean MAF and throttle body.

    Odd noise coming from someplace...

    To me your clip sounds like a medium pitch hummmmmm right from the beginning and then you rev the engine. Is that about right? If so that could be an idler bearing, alternator, AC or some other small bearing. Could be lots of things actually. Try a stethoscope and see if you can find the source.
