Is this from body mounting differences or suspension?

    Heater Core

Please elaborate on that. I need to do mine I think and I was under the impression the entire dash had to be removed from this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qa7TiLRn9oE

    Blowing out spark plugs

Ok so if I have to... I will rework the stock heads and use the plug inserts. Hope I don't have to though! Still nothing from the bank on the lien release...... tapping foot.....we did have a holiday slow things down though. Thanks!

    Blowing out spark plugs

So we are talking about these right? - http://www.modmaxracing.com/product_p/fmsm6050-p46.htm Looks like they raise compression which would demand higher octane gas. Any 8 thread alternatives in a stock configuration?

    Blowing out spark plugs

Does these 8 thread heads transform the truck into a plug breaker instead of a plug thrower?

    Blowing out spark plugs

These Timeserts must be something like what they used to call "Heli Coils"? Sounds like the right thing to do.... all at once and be done with it. I am amazed that it took Ford so many years to address the lack of thread issue. There was no recall I take it.... Edit I looked up the timeserts...

    Blowing out spark plugs

So by all of this I would surmise that my 97 4.6 is not the 2V head that blows plugs by reputation and also to not use anti seize. Maybe I will be able to see the threads in the front holes with an inspection mirror. Maybe the plugs will have been done already. It does run really well. Time will...

    Blowing out spark plugs

So, is the statement true that Expys earlier than 2003 had 2V heads? If so then my 4.6 1997 is one of them. Never seize would be good on dissimilar metals for sure to eliminate ion exchange but the Motorcraft plugs, as I read it, are aluminum threaded so they should be compatible with the...

    Blowing out spark plugs

I have read many references here to blown out plugs and I believe it only pertains to 3V 5.4L engines.... Is this assumption correct or do both the 4.6 and 5.4 motors have this issue? Maybe the quote above actually meant 'breaking' plugs when torquing them and not blowing them out of the...

    Service manual

Illustrations are nice but which is more accurate? I was thinking that Haynes has a lot of info either missing or inaccurate..... Maybe its best to get all three!

    Service manual

As I recall, Chiltons is way better than Haynes..... correct me if I'm incorrect. FYI - I found the service manual on CD on Ebay HERE

    expy alive again

So mine also has the 2wd setting... is this similar to the brown wire mod where it just stops the transfer case clutches from kicking in? I know when you do the brown wire mod in an Explorer, if you spin the rear tires its hard on the clutches..... is it the same in the Expys? Sorry to hear...

    2000 Prospect

Thanks.... and its as good as those I have looked at with prices of thousands more than this one. It will need a few things as they all do but it will be fun working on it. Found a you tube video on changing the heater core... gonna go watch that now. Cheers!

    2000 Prospect

Well the 2000 didn't work out, it was pretty rough and they wanted almost five grand for it. BUT I did buy one today.... it's a 97 with 130,000 on the clock. Drives nice, needs tires and its just a tad rusty. Not bad for the age in central NY at all. It was taken care of. I checked all the areas...

    2000 Prospect

Hi all, my first post here! Currently I have an Explorer that needs replacing due to rust. I have found a 2000 Expy that I like. Its white, non EB but has air ride, 70,000 miles, leather, etc. I haven't seen it yet, going to be seeing it tomorrow. Supposedly its in excellent shape, rust free...
